You’ll spend your days in the bush, tracking Maasai lions and cheetahs, and if you’re lucky enough to visit during the dry season, the Great Wildebeest Migration. When you’re not tracking animals in the bush alongside veteran trackers or surveying the landscape from the heights of a hot air balloon, you’ll enjoy the spacious accommodations of the camp’s 14 tents. With ensuite bathrooms and verandahs that overlook a river that’s home to a family of hippos, you’ll feel connected to nature even when you’re relaxing in your room. Some of the 37 tents line the riverbank, tucked into the forest with uninterrupted views over the Mara River, others have views across the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara.
Everything is under canvas, all tents have an Ensuite. There is a bar tent with a deck overlooking the Mara River and a dining tent with views over the plains.

Imagine a camp set right in the heart of some of the greatest predator country of Africa.
This is Mara Plains Camp, located on the northern border of the Masai Mara Game Reserve in the 30,000 acre Olare Orok Conservancy. Rarely a night passes without lion roaring nearby, while leopard are regularly found to wander through the camp and cheetah have established territories on the savannah nearby the main area.
Mara Plains Camp is centred around three open-air marquis tents connected together in a pod concept. There are two lounges, one with a small library and writing area, a main dining room with a grand wood table and magnificent chandelier, host breakfast and some dinners, when you are not dining under the stars.
The camp caters for only 14 guests in seven uniquely designed octagonal canvas rooms, raised on decks, which open to the outside on three sides.Facilities
