US$ 3,386

This Ugandan safari is perfect for travellers who are short on time, but keen to see mountain gorillas and other fascinating wildlife in the African wild. After get acquainted with Uganda in Entebbe, you’ll head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to see endangered mountain gorillas and Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot lions and hippos in the wild.

This 6-day Uganda safari takes you to two of Uganda’s best national parks in search of gorillas and other incredible wildlife.

Your Uganda tour begins in Entebbe, a city on the banks of Lake Victoria that offers a relaxed introduction to the country. Stroll along popular Lido Beach, peruse a collection of East African flowers and trees at the Entebbe Botanical gardens, or cruise across Lake Victoria before heading southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, near the borders of the Congo.

You’ll soon become enchanted with Bwindi’s incredible scenery, from its steep mountains to its verdant jungles. You’ll also be surrounded with animal life, as the park abounds with over 120 mammal species and 350 bird species. Chief among these animals are the 340 mountain gorillas that call the park home, which accounts for around a half of the world’s entire mountain gorilla population. Spend two days in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park heading on gorilla tracking expeditions. You’ll hike through the breathtaking jungles of the park and spot these endangered gorillas up close, gaining insight into their daily habits. It’ll be an experience you cherish for a lifetime.

After spending your days with the mountain gorillas, head north to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most popular nature reserves. Head out on a safari excursion to encounter hippos, elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, and, most intriguingly, chimpanzees. Dip down to Ishasha in the southern reaches of the park to spot a lioness sleeping in the branches of a fig tree and to cruse down the Kazinga Channel to gaze upon the jungle from the vantage of the water. Then return to Entebbe to connect back home.

If you dream about having a close encounter with a mountain gorilla, this Ugandan safari is your ideal jungle adventure.
