Jambo East Africa

Duration
9 Days
Prices From:
US$ 4,274

This East African safari takes you through the most famous wildlife regions of Tanzania, including the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. It also takes in Kenya’s Amboseli National Park, in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro.

This 9-day safari trip takes you from Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, over the border to some of the world’s most renowned wildlife areas.

You’ll have time at leisure in Nairobi before joining the tour. While Kenya’s capital isn’t its main attraction, you may wish to visit the Karen Blixen Museum, or whet your safari appetite with a visit to one of the small, nearby parks, many of which are focused on conservation work. Your first real wildlife adventure comes at Amboseli National Park. Stretching out beneath Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is said to be the best place in Africa to see free-ranging elephants.

Just over the border in Tanzania, explore Ngorongoro Crater, home to 25,000 large animals including critically endangered Black Rhinos. Those wanting to see big cats are also in the right place, since Ngorongoro has a particularly dense lion population. A half-day tour with an afternoon at leisure allows you to enjoy the area at your own pace before going on to Serengeti National Park. This is the most famous wildlife region in Tanzania, if not all of Africa. Though its name has become synonymous with the annual migration, it’s a wonderful area to visit at any time. All the Big 5 are present within the park, alongside a substantial Cheetah population, and the wildebeest and Zebra herds that have made the migration world renowned.

Your adventure concludes at Tarangire National Park, where the namesake river is a popular watering area for 550 local species including tree climbing lions, and a large elephant population.
