Situated in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Kings Camp reflects the charm and romance of a colonial past in a pristine corner of unspoilt Africa. Kings Camp is situated facing an open savanna plain with a waterhole, which is frequented by a wide variety of wildlife, day and night.
The eleven generously spaced thatched colonial suites luxuriously equipped with romantic soft cascading mosquito nets, remote controlled air-conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, Victorian ball-and-claw bath, indoor and outdoor double shower, fully stocked mini-bar and private verandah with hammock, all combine to make Kings Camp the ultimate in luxury accommodation. Dark tones of wood and thatch offset the natural colours of the bushveld.
For your comfort and convenience, other room amenities include robes, mosquito repellent, an umbrella, hairdryer and a torch. Your suite is also equipped with its own safe and telephone.
Kings Camp offers a number of very comfortable living areas for you to just sit back, relax and soak up the tranquility of the African bush. A thatched viewing deck overlooking a very active waterhole and an open plan lounge, and bar are the ideal place to see out the heat of the day, while sipping an ice cold cocktail. Alternatively, a dip in our swimming pool is maybe a better option for some.
Our spacious dining room offers stunning views of the bushveld, while enjoying the sumptuous meals offered at Kings Camp.
A library full of verse and History awaits those yearning for knowledge of the African continent, filled with a collection of fictional and non-fictional books. For those wanting to keep in touch with family members back home, there is a desktop with wireless internet connection available in the library 24 hours. A television is also available for those wanting to keep up to date with the latest news or sports game.
Our traditional boma is a truly memorable way to experience an evening under the African night sky. Fine cuisine and wines can be sampled while sitting near a warm crackling fire.
Morning and afternoon game drives with knowledgeable rangers in open vehicles. You will be served tea, coffee and biscuits on your morning game drive and drinks and canap's on your afternoon game drive. Your afternoon game drive gets back after dark, which gives you the opportunity to spot our nocturnal animals with a spotlight. Walking Safaris - Walks through the bush take place just after breakfast, on request, and is the best way of experiencing the "finer" aspects of the bushveld. Your knowledgeable ranger will guide you through the fauna and flora of the Timbavati Nature Reserve, pointing out insects, grasses, trees and the smaller species that are all an integral part of the Timbavati Nature Reserve.
