Legendary Cape & Delta

Duration
10 Days
Prices From:
US$ 7,178

More than just another Africa safari, this wildlife adventure explores the beauty of South Africa’s Cape region before embarking on an adventure in Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park.

This 10-day trip through Africa starts in Cape Town, a city blessed with one of the world’s most stunning natural locations. It then takes you north to the Okavango Delta, one of the continent’s most abundant wildlife areas and Botswana’s newest World Heritage site, before ending in Chobe National Park.

Take a night to settle into the Mother City, then explore the peninsula, including the opulent houses of ‘Millionaire’s Paradise.’ Meet the boisterous residents of Seal Island on a cruise, and take in the cliff top views from Chapman’s Peak Drive. Lunch on delicious fresh local cuisine before visiting the penguin colony of Boulder’s Beach. Your day ends at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, with the wild beauty of the Cape on full show. On your second full Cape Town day, head into the Winelands, where the incredible scenery is marked by hills covered in historic vineyards producing world class wines.

Fly to Botswana and explore the Okavango Delta by mokoro canoe. Regardless of whether they’re on water or land, the wildlife sightings here are spectacular, with a truly staggering variety of species taking advantage of the lush waterways – the only inland delta of its kind. Yet Botswana’s natural delights aren’t confined to the Okavango. You’ll transfer to Chobe National Park, another of the country’s key wildlife areas, and one particularly known for its plentiful elephants. With sports hunting banned in Botswana, this could well be an animal lover’s dream African safari. Game drives take you to the best viewing spots, while visits to nearby rock paintings and other local highlights round out your days.

dry cycles shape the landscape and wildlife. The Savute Channel flows again after nearly 30
years of lying dormant, but will still dry up from time to time without warning. It has become one of Northern Botswana's greatest mysteries. The Gubatsa Hills shelter leopard and klipspringer, with rock paintings depicting early man's animal encounters. Spend the next two days enjoying game drives in the park.
