Luxury Cape Town and Sabi Sands

Duration
8 Days
Prices From:
US$ 5,361

Experience two of South Africa’s most iconic destinations on this safari and city combo. Start in Sabi Sands where you’ll spend three nights in a luxurious game lodge and head on daily game drives in search of lions and elephants. Then connect to Cape Town to explore the beautiful highlights of the Mother City.

This 8-day South African vacation takes you to Sabi Sands and Cape Town for a safari and city combo tour. It features deluxe accommodations, private tours, and is a great introduction to South Africa.

Your journey begins in Johannesburg, where you’ll connect to Sabi Sands Game Reserve and Dulini River Lodge on the banks of the Mabrak River. This 5-star game lodge will be your home for the next few days while you explore the wilds of Sabi Sands. After arriving at the lodge, you’ll meet your own personal game ranger, who will be your host throughout your stay. You’ll then head on an afternoon game drive into the park to get your first encounter with the animals that call this region home. End the day with sundowners, providing the perfect cap to your first safari experience.

Spend the next two days heading on morning and afternoon game drives through Sabi Sands. You’ll have a good chance of spotting the Big 5, especially lions, elephants, and buffalo, but you may also see cheetahs dozing in the shade, antelopes racing through the tall grass, or wild dogs. Between game drives, cool off alongside the pool or doze in your room. Cap off each day with a sumptuous dinner. If it’s possible, you may even enjoy a bush braai out in the wild.

After a farewell game drive on your final morning in Sabi Sands, you’ll fly back to Johannesburg and connect onward to Cape Town, the loveliest city in the nation. Staying at Twelve Apostles Hotel, a 5-star property located on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, you’ll have a few days to explore Cape Town and surrounds. On your first full day, head on a half day private tour that takes you up Table Mountain for spectacular views before visiting the Parliament Buildings, City Hall, and Castle of Good Hope before swinging by District Six and Bo-Kaap, where you can enjoy the sight of the pastel-coloured homes and gain insight into this important minority community.

The next day, head on a full day tour of the Cape Winelands in order to visit vacation towns and sample some celebrated South African vintages at local wineries. You’ll stop off in the towns of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, and enjoy wine tastings at two different wine estates. Your final day in Cape Town is at leisure to see what you missed the other days. Join a cooking class in Bo-Kaap to learn to make Malay dishes or visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. Drive along the Cape Peninsula to spot penguins and unforgettable panoramic views, or stroll along the V&A Waterfront and do some shopping.

At the end of your stay, connect to the airport to head back home.
