FIRST-CLASS | TAILOR-MADE: With its traditional Arab architecture and wide sandy beaches, Muscat is one of the most attractive cities in the Gulf and makes a great extension to either nearby Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Oman is a forward thinking and progressive country situated on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It is made up primarily of desert and mountains and offers untouched beauty in its landscapes. Unlike its neighbour, Dubai, it is made up of very few high rise buildings and in turn, reflects the traditional character of the country. The capital, Muscat, is essentially a port with many cruise ships making a stop here. It has much charm and history.
On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for overnight with the remainder of the day at leisure. The following morning, start with a tour of Muscat and its natural harbour. Visit the Sultan Qaboos Mosque, the third largest in the world (not open to visitors on Fridays) and the Bait Al Zubair Museum which traces the history and development of the country (again not open on Fridays). Then drive along the Corniche visiting the Fish Market, the colourful Muttrah Souk and the Al Alam Palace, the Sultan’s Palace with its blue and gold mushroom shaped pillars flanked by two major forts, the imposing Al-Jalali and Al Mirani Forts. The rest of the day is free to further explore Muscat.
The following day is departure but if time allows, consider staying on as there is so much more to experience in Oman.
