Sanctuary Retreats Delta, Chobe and Victoria Falls Special

Duration

Uncover the vast and untamed wilderness of Botswana on this incredible African safari. Journeying from Botswana to Zambia, you’ll stay in luxury safari camps and explore the natural wonders of the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, and mighty Victoria Falls.

This 8-day Botswana vacation takes you to luxurious Sanctuary camps near the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, and Victoria Falls.

Your trip to Botswana begins in Maun, where you’ll connect to Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp, a classic tented safari camp on the borders of Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta. Located on 260,000 acres of African bush, the camp is newly refurbished, with 10 brand-new luxury tents built in the spring of 2018. Staying in one of its tents, you’ll spend a few days heading on game drives and exploring the Okavango Delta. Take a dug-out canoe out onto the water to spot water buffalo treading water or crocodiles floating across the floodplain. Head on a walking safari to see termite mounds and elephants or embark on a nighttime bush drive to see nocturnal animals like leopards and hyenas.

From Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp, connect to Kasane and Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero, a luxury game near Chobe National Park, the second-largest game reserve in Botswana. This luxury camp has gorgeous cottages with panoramic views of the Chobe River and the surrounding floodplain. Each day, head on game drives in open 4X4 vehicles to spot giraffes or some of the nearly 80,000 elephants that live on the plains nearby.

Cross the border into Zambia and reach your final stop, Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma, a gorgeous camp on a bend of the Zambezi River near Mosa-Oa-Tunya National Park. Located only 12km upstream from Victoria Falls, Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma is the perfect base to explore these magnificent falls. Staying in one of 12 tree houses interconnected by wooden walkways or one of two private two-bedroom houses on the ground, you’ll head on game viewing activities and tour the falls to see the millions of litres of water that pour off the falls each second. Head on a sundowner cruise along the Zambezi River to see the riverfront come alive with wildlife at night. Visit a local village to gain insight into everyday life in the area. And keep your eyes peeled for all the rhinos, giraffes, hippos, and crocodiles that call the wild home.

At the end of your stay, head to the airport in Livingston to continue your onward journey.
