Signature Marrakech

Ideally situated in the medina, the hotel includes 26 rooms and suites, most with private terraces and fireplaces, 3 restaurants, a piano bar, a world-famous cooking school (open to guests staying at the hotel or elsewhere in town) as well as a new spa including a traditional hammam, where natural products from the region of Marrakech are used.
Guests at La Maison Arabe have a choice of swimming pools. One can relax at either the heated pool in the hotel's garden patio, or at the pool located at our spectacular Country Club, 15 minutes away by complimentary shuttle.
Walking through the hotel's flower-filled patios, one can admire the traditional Moroccan craftsmanship (tadelakt walls, chiseled plaster, cedar wood ceilings) that has created a refined, exotic and serene atmosphere.

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech. We start at Djemaa el Fna, the central square and Marrakesh's heartbeat surrounded by bazaars, mosques, terraced cafes, snake charmers, fire-eaters, and fortune-tellers. After the visit, we stop at the Koutoubia Minaret, the oldest of the three great Almohad towers, and the Bahia Palace, a marvelous display of painted wood, ceramics, and symmetrical gardens. We then proceed to Tiskiwine museum which houses an impressive collection of North African arts and crafts. The museum, which was founded by a Dutch anthropologist, is organized into geographically themed exhibits, with each room focusing on artifacts from different towns and regions along the ancient trade route from Marrakech to Timbuktu. The works on display include exquisite hand-woven carpets and textiles, traditional Berber clothing and jewelry, intricate basketwork and tribal handicrafts. Then enjoy a tour by a walk through the old medina and the labyrinth of souks. After lunch (own expense), head to New city "Guéliz" the heart of the modern part of Marrakech, enjoy a brief tour of this area where many foreigners choose to live. Continue to At the Menara Gardens, apart from the spectacular gardens and the wonderfully charming pavilion, you will encounter beautiful orchards and olive groves, and a huge artificial lake, originally created to irrigate the gardens. The lake is replenished by an impressive 700-year-old hydraulic system and a complex network of underground channels that bring water from the Atlas Mountains roughly 30km away. Visitors can enjoy fantastic panoramic views from side of the lake opposite the pavilion, with the pavilion's reflection on the mirror-like water, and snow-covered peaks of the Atlas Mountains. Return back to your hotel for overnight.

This morning you will be met at your hotel for your full day excursion to Ouarzazate. During the drive you will be crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the magnificent TizInTichka pass (2262m). This pass lies between the great Marrakech Plains and the gateway of the Sahara Desert. Your first stop is at the spectacular fortress of Ait Ben Haddou, the iconic landscape immortalized in such films as, Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.

You then continue along to Ouarzazate, also known as "Morocco's Hollywood". Here you will get to visit the Kasbah Taourirt, one of the most beautiful Kasbahs in the country. At one point in the 1930's, Kasbah Taourirt was considered the largest Kasbah in Morocco and today is classified as a historical monument giving tribute to the Glaoui.

Next you will visit the Kasbah Tifoultoutel, with its beautiful sites over the valley. Kasbah Tifoultoute is said to be over 300 years old, however the present structure is largely 20th century. The Kasbah has been converted to a hotel in the 1960s for the cast of Lawrence of Arabia. The next stop is at one of the film studios, where some of the most famous desert landscapes were and are still being shot.
