Signature Morocco: Holiday of a Lifetime

Duration
12 Days
Prices From:
US$ 7,250

Exotic is the first word that comes to mind to describe Morocco. Ancient cities exude a mysterious ambience leaving you with a strong impression. Also add into the mix, excellent beach resorts, snow-capped mountains, cedar forests, orange groves and the colourful Sahara Desert. It is a country influenced by Roman, Arab, Berber and French civilizations.

Start your visit with an overnight stay in the renowned city of Casablanca, an economic centre with beaches along the Corniche on the Atlantic Ocean.  After a city tour the next morning, continue to Rabat, which is also situated on the Atlantic Ocean. Here you will become acquainted with the highlights of Morocco’s capital city including an overnight stay. Your journey continues to Meknes to view the medina (old city) and the Royal Palace. This is followed by a visit to Volubilis with its Roman remains. Arrive the same day in Fes for a two night stay. Fes, the former medieval capital, has one of the best preserved walled medinas in the Arab world with its special sights, sounds and smells and an excellent place to purchase leather goods. Here you will see the largest Royal Palace in the country and enjoy a demonstration of the art of traditional mosaic making. Explore the medina with its many artisan studios.

Departing from Fes, head right into the heart of the desert reached through the majestic Atlas Mountains.  Stop at Ifrane,”Morocco’s Switzerland” and a charming ski resort. Continue on to Merzouga by 4 x 4 wheel drive vehicles for an overnight stay at a charming luxury desert camp, a unique experience. After an early sunrise camel ride followed by breakfast, leave the camp and drive to Tinghir, a beautiful oasis boasting one of the largest palm groves in Morocco. Here enjoy a walk through the famous Todra Gorge carved into the Atlas Mountains. Eventually arrive in Ouarzazate, a UNESCO world heritage site with some of the best preserved Kasbahs.

En route to your next destination, Asni, stop at the fortress of Ait Ben Haddou, made famous for its inclusion in movies such as “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Gladiator”. Finally cross the Tichka mountain pass, arriving in Asni. Here, you will visit an authentic Berber village in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, and taste life as an Amazigh. With some time at leisure, you'll be able to fully immerse yourself in this unique opportunity before going on to Marrakech.

Located in the foothills of the snow covered Atlas Mountains, Marrakech was one of Winston Churchill’s favourites, combining the old Morocco and the new. The Djeema El Fna Square is the centre of activity and at dusk is an exciting venue with its musicians, dancers and storytellers. During your stay here, you will enjoy a cooking class with a local chef, preparing lunch after a morning picking out the ingredients for your meal at the local market.

Signature Morocco will provide you with experiences in a land never to be forgotten.
