FIRST-CLASS | TAILOR-MADE: Explore three of Tanzania’s great game parks on this tented camp safari through the country. In Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti, you’ll head on daily game drives to see lions, elephants, zebras, and many more spectacular animals across the East African wilderness.
This 9-day Tanzanian vacation takes you to tented safari camps in Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. It features first-class accommodations, small group tours, and is a great option for a first safari in East Africa.
Your journey begins in Arusha, which sits in the shadow of Mt. Meru and Mt. Kilimanjaro and serves as the gateway to the various safari regions of northern Tanzania. Spend the evening in Arusha before boarding a light aircraft the next day to fly into Tarangire National Park and reach your 5-star tented camp, Nimali Tarangire, which sits on a riverbed on the eastern boundary of the park. After arriving you’ll head on an afternoon game drive to get your first taste of the East African bush. You’ll have a chance to spot buffalo on the savanna, elephants wading through a waterhole, or lions dozing in the shade of a baobab tree. That evening, enjoy sundowners by the fireplace back at camp. Spend the next day on a full-day game drive through the park in search of oryx, kudu, warthogs, and lions.
From Tarangire, fly to the Manyara Airstrip and connect to the Ngorongoro Crater and your 4-star seasonal tented camp, Lemala Camp Ngorongoro, which sits along the rim of the crater. You’ll head on a hike along the rim of this massive volcanic caldera and learn about the small camp’s close relationship with the local Masai community. The next day is at your leisure to explore the bountiful Ngorongoro Crater, which has one of the densest populations of animals in all of Africa. You’ll have a good chance to spot members of the Big Five as well as zebras, gazelles, black rhinos, and even black spotted hyenas.
From the Ngorongoro Crater, fly to the famous Serengeti and Nimali Central Serengeti, your final tented safari camp, which sits near Makoma Hill and offers seclusion as well as great views of the park. You’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive after first arriving in the park, and then two full days of wildlife viewing in this most famous of game reserves. If you happen to visit during the Great Migration, you’ll witness hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra crossing the plains. You’ll also have the chance to take a morning hot air balloon ride high above the park to spot the families of giraffes, elephants, and buffalo from high above.
At the end of your stay in the Serengeti, you’ll head back to Arusha to connect back home.

To Tarangire National Park
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Arusha Airport in time for your onward light aircraft flight to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your camp arriving in time for lunch. This afternoon, head out on your first game drive in the park which hosts among other species Buffalo, Elephant, Lion, Warthog, Eland, the Fringe-eared Oryx, Lesser and greater Kudu, Gerenuk and large numbers of Impala. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight.
