The northwest corner of Zimbabwe offers the perfect African pairing. The majestic Victoria Falls and nearby Hwange National Park. This 5 day package includes return flights from Johannesburg, making it an ideal addition to your southern Africa adventure.

“The Smoke That Thunders”, Victoria Falls are the widest falls in the world. The mighty Zambezi River cascades 50 metres over the edge to the gorges below, each one a former location of the Falls, carved by erosion of the plateau’s soft sandstone. A guided walking tour takes you to all the key sights, before your day ends with a sunset cruise on the Zambezi.

Spend 2 nights at Hwange National Park. Dawn and dusk game drives give you the best chance to see many animals including lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas. The Park also boasts one of the most successful elephant populations in Africa. You may even opt for a guided walking safari.

Day 2

Victoria Falls

You will enjoy a guided walking tour of Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. In the afternoon, you will experience a sunset cruise on the famous Zambezi River.

After breakfast you will be picked up for a guided tour of Victoria Falls. No surprise why Victoria Falls is one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World. You'll understand it instantly as you tour the Zimbabwean side, for there are numerous spectacular vantage points along the width of the Falls, and the sight of this astounding gift of nature. You'll walk through the permanent, beautifully misty rainforest which flanks the Falls, stopping to marvel at the principal sites as it cascades to the depths below: the Main Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Rainbow Falls, the Boiling Pot, Cataract Island and Livingstone Island. You'll stand and watch, feel and listen to the spray and thunderous noise, as millions of litres of water tumble over the Falls into a series of narrow gorges below.

You will return to the lodge to relax or why not go into Victoria Falls town to view the markets for African curios?

This afternoon, you will be picked up for your Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi. Put your feet up, sip a sundowner as the light gently fades, and let your tranquil wildlife cruise float you along the Zambezi River above the Falls. You'll have the finest vantage point from which to watch hippo, crocodiles and other animals which come down to the river's edge in the early evening, to slake their thirst. You're in the first-class seats, that's for sure, and while you're sipping your cocktail and enjoying snacks no further movement required on your part, you'll be captivated by the sun's dying rays as they cast a burnt-orange glow which shimmers on the river. Take another sip in this golden setting - cheers!

After your sunset cruise, you will be transferred back to your hotel; the rest of the evening is at your leisure.
