Wetlands and Wildlife
- Duration
- 8 Days
- Prices From:
- US$ 3,285
Spend time in both Hluhulwe-Imfolozi National Park as well as Isimangaliso Wetlands on this trip. Experience game drives, nature walks, canoeing, snorkeling or just relax at your lodge - this trip has it all, showcasing the diversity and beauty of wildlife and geography in South Africa.
This 8-day South Africa safari shows you a different side of this incredible country’s diverse wildlife and landscapes. Visit the rhinos of Hluhluwe-iMolozi and see the unique creatures of the Isimangaliso Wetland Park.
Arrive in Durban and transfer to South Africa’s oldest game reserve, Hluhluwe-iMfolozi National Park. The reserve stands among the world’s best places to see rhinos in the wild. In fact, the park is often credited with the species’ preservation when it came close to extinction in the late 19th century. You’ll see a healthy population of elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and other species as well. You’ll have plenty of chances to see the game on morning and afternoon drives, and perhaps enjoy a traditional South African bush braai for dinner.
iSimangaliso Wetland Park is an immense protected zone on South Africa’s east coast, encompassing Lake St Lucia. That you’ll see plenty of hippos, crocodiles, and other water-loving creatures is a given, but iSimangaliso is also known for its elephants, giraffes, and even elusive leopards. Explore the wilderness with a range of included activities, then transfer to Thonga Beach for some much needed R&R. You can even continue the wildlife adventure underwater! Thonga is one of South Africa’s top destinations for snorkeling.
