Winelands & Wildlife: Cape Town, Stellenbosch & Sabi Sands Game Reserve

Duration
10 Days
Prices From:
US$ 5,208

FIRST-CLASS | TAILOR-MADE: Explore vibrant Cape Town and see the sights of the Cape Peninsula. Visit picturesque Stellenbosch, the heart of the Winelands before a ‘Big 5’ encounter at Kruger National Park.

Wine and wildlife. No other country delivers this pairing like South Africa. As this 10 day adventure takes you from the Cape to Kruger, you’ll see what we mean.

Cape Town is the legislative capital of South Africa and the country’s most beautiful and iconic city. Spend 4 nights in the shadow of incredible Table Mountain as you explore the sights. You’ll visit Cape Peninsula, home to the scenic Cape of Good Hope and False Bay. Take a cable car up Table Mountain, and enjoy an orientation tour of the city, which includes the Houses of Parliament and Cape Malay quarter. You’ll also have a full day at leisure to explore. Perhaps take a ferry ride to Robben Island.

Just outside Cape Town, enjoy an overnight stay at Stellenbosch, a part of the Western Cape’s Winelands region particularly noted for its Cabernet Sauvignon. Producing over 1 billion litres of wine each year, the country has risen to become one of the world’s top 10 wine producers. You’ll have a full day at leisure to visit the wineries, or the nearby regions of Paarl or Franschoek. Your resort, Spier, also offers Eagle Encounters. Get up close and personal with birds of prey, as part of a conservation project that has become one of Stellenbosch’s most popular attractions.

Your tour ends with 3 exciting nights at Kruger National Park, home a spectacular range of animals including the Big 5. See them on daily game drives at dawn and dusk, when these majestic creatures are at their most active.

Day 2

Half Day Authentic Cape Town City Tour

This morning you will be picked up from your hotel for a half-day Cape Town City tour. No visit to Cape Town is complete without a tour of the "Mother City". Sense the depth of history as you drive past Parliament Buildings, City Hall and the Slave Lodge before stopping for a short visit of the Castle of Good Hope (optional), originally built as a maritime replenishment station and now the oldest surviving colonial building in South Africa! Alternatively, we walk around the Grand Parade square which has its own historical significance. We hear of the brief history of District Six en-route to a visit at the Company Gardens where we walk through the landscaped gardens. Learn more about the history of the Bo-Kaap and its people as we move up the cobblestoned hills to the Malay Quarter, and marvel at the ice-cream colours of the quaint Bo-Kaap homes. Trace the moves of a professional diamond cutter as he creates every girl's dream stone with a visit to a diamond cutting factory. After learning more about the history of diamonds and gold in South Africa, we drive past the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town Stadium, Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay as we make our way to Table Mountain where you have the option of either admiring the views from the lower cable station or purchasing a ticket (for own account) to reach the summit. After delighting in this photo opportunity, return to the hotel or stay on top of the mountain and find your own way back to your hotel.
