This full day tour has an emphasis on Bali's history and temples, which are linked to the ancient Javanese Hindu Kingdoms. The tour begins with a visit to the Kehen temple with its enormous Banyan tree entrance. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has a triple throne shrine of the Hindu trinity: Brahma, Wisnu and Shiva. Continue to Besakih Temple, known as "Mother Temple". It is the largest temple in Bali and the most important place of worship in the island. There will be time to stop for lunch (an additional expense) amongst the beautiful mountain and rice terrace surroundings. The scenery is spectacular as you heading towards the east coast through the villages of Selat and Putung. Stop at the Tihingan Village to see a Gamelan ("Balinese music") home industry and the authentic Bali Aga village. The Bali Aga are known as the original Balinese people, and live in live in isolated areas in the mountains. The last stop on your return back to your hotel in Bali will be by the shore to see the traditional salt making process. This is age-old tradition is one interesting to see and is one that cannot be manipulated or replicated.
