Duration
4 Days
Prices From:
US$ 1,716

MODERATE | PRIVATE-GUIDED: Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s not hard to see why this spectacularly laid-out, beautiful rice terraces are a gift of nature. Experience amazing views in this unique setting.

The Banaue Rice Terraces are a national treasure and will delight the visitor who appreciates nature at its best. These 2000 year old rice terraces are built into the mountain sides and reach a height of several thousand feet. Everywhere are stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. The terraces follow the natural contours of the mountains. The area is also home to local native tribes.

After a longish but interesting drive from Manila (about 8 to 10 hours depending), you arrive at this wonderland of rugged natural beauty. After a night at a local hotel, begin your exploration of the terraces in a jitney climbing up the mountain roads in order to take in the breathtaking views. Take time to visit a local home for an idea of how life is in this region.

The following day, visit the nearby small town of Sagada with its cool and refreshing climate. Of interest here are the burial caves and hanging coffins spread around the area. Also stop at the Bontoc Museum which houses a number of authentic native objects and artifacts. Here you will be treated to a cultural show of native song and dance.
Return the next day by road back to Manila.
