Duration
4 Days
Prices From:
US$ 864

FIRST-CLASS | PRIVATE-GUIDED: After sampling the world famous Sichuan cuisine, enjoy pandas in their sanctuary home before heading out to experience one of China’s sacred mountains, Emei Shan and Wannian Temple.

Chengdu offers the opportunity to get close to one of China’s national treasures, the Panda. This is possible at the Chengdu Breeding Sanctuary three hours drive outside the city. The Sanctuary, the largest of its type in the world, is a breeding centre for Pandas of which there are a few dozen in captivity here. One can also see the golden monkey, white lipped deer and the gnu.

In Chengdu itself, there is time to visit the SanxingduiMuseum which houses a number of archaeological treasures. To add to the enjoyment of being in SichuanProvince’s capital, there is an overland trip to one of China’s four sacred Buddhist mountains, Emei Shan with its natural beauty of waterfalls, springs and flowers. The view from the top reached by cable car will give you a breathtaking panoramic view. Nearby Leshan, a scenic resort, has numerous attractive temples and pavillions. An outstanding sculpture here is that of the Giant Buddha carved into the side of a mountain.
