Today you'll enjoy a half-day guided tour of the most distinguished temples in Bangkok. Wat Trai Mit, the Temple of the Golden Buddha, houses a 5.5 ton statue of Buddha made from solid gold. It is a fine example of Sukhothai art, and was accidentally discovered in a layer of stucco during construction of the temple. Passing through Yaowarat (Chinatown), your next stop will be Wat Pho, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, one of the largest and oldest temples in Bangkok. Wat Pho also houses a famous Thai massage school. Your last stop will be at the magnificent Wat Benchamabophit, built with white Italian marble from Carrara.

The afternoon is at leisure for you to rest or continue exploring on your own.

This evening, let your taste buds come alive as you explore Yaowarat’s incredible street food with your guide. Speak to vendors and chefs and sample their creations. Specialties include grilled jumbo prawns with chili sauce, black sesame dumplings in ginger tea, tropical fruit, pan-fried taro cake, steamed pork ribs, fried battered mussels and Chinese buns.

Today, set out on a private half-day guided tour to visit some of the most sacred temples in Northern Thailand, beginning with Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, which contains a holy relic of the Lord Buddha. Tucked away on a mountain just outside of Chiang Mai city, the temple is accessed via 300 stairs and offers a beautiful view of the city and surrounding countryside. Afterwards, drive back down to the city centre and visit the 14th-century temple Wat Suan Dok, which contains the ashes of Chiang Mai's former Royal family and currently houses a famous school for monks. Also visit Wat Jedyod, known as The Temple of Seven Spires.

The afternoon is at leisure for you to rest or continue exploring on your own.

This evening, set out from your hotel to explore one of Chiang Mai's best street food markets, with small stalls serving a wide range of dishes, many of which adhere to the principles of authentic Thai and Northern Thai cooking. With the benefit of your guide's expertise, meet local vendors and taste delicious grilled meats, seafood, curries, soups, noodles and rice dishes. This market is popular with locals and is a great place to wander, relax and soak up the nighttime atmosphere of Chiang Mai. Continue onwards to the Night Market or Night Bazaar and test your bargaining skills! Return to your hotel around 9pm.
