Discover two of the world’s great cities and culinary capitals on this Asian adventure. See the famous reclining Buddha at Wat Pho and sample the world’s best street food in Bangkok before heading to Hong Kong to shop for upscale fashion and feast on the best in international cuisine.
This 9-day tour takes you to two of Asia’s great metropolises, Bangkok and Hong Kong. International airfare is included in this Thailand vacation package.
Your Thailand vacation begins in Bangkok, the nation’s capital and the most visited city on the planet. Bangkok is a city of contrasts. Massive skyscrapers sit beside wooden huts. Food carts sell pad thai outside gourmet restaurants owned by international celebrities. Luxury malls jostle for baht alongside bustling farmers markets. There is no one definitive side to Bangkok, and that’s what makes it so exhilarating. The city is bursting at the seams with culture. Visit Wat Pho to see the world’s largest reclining Buddha statue and then stop by the Grand Palace to see the home of the king and celebrate the contributions of monarchs past and present. Stroll through Chinatown at night to get a taste for one of the city’s dominant subcultures before heading to Khao San Road to revel in the legendary nightlife.
If you love street food, you’ll find the world’s best in Bangkok. Work up a sweat with tom yum goong or pad thai at the many stalls that line the city’s streets. Pair gourmet tours with shopping excursions at the many outdoor markets and upscale malls. The Skytrain makes getting around a breeze, ensuring that you see everything this iconic city has to offer. Before you end your stay, be sure to take a boat down the Chao Phraya River for a complete experience of the city. Seeing this “Venice of the East” from the water is essential, especially after dusk when Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, lights up in a manner that’d make the Eiffel Tower jealous.
After discovering the many pleasures of Bangkok, head to Hong Kong, another of the world’s great cities. Often dubbed the “City of Life” as it never seems to sleep, Hong Kong is famous the world over for its towering skyscrapers, world-class food and shopping, and endless bustle of activity. The British controlled the city until 1997, making the city a meeting ground between the East and West. Whether you’re looking to go on a shopping binge, marvel at towering architecture, or gorge yourself on the best in world cuisine, Hong Kong has you covered. The city is famous for its shopping, with the lack of sales tax enticing shoppers the world over. Head to one of the city’s many malls, the endless bespoke tailors, or the lively Temple Street Night Market to shop to your heart’s content. But even more than shopping and fashion, Hong Kong is all about food.
Cantonese people are ravenous for good food. Whether you want Cantonese or Sichuan, Japanese or French, Portuguese or Indian, you’ll find it in Hong Kong. Spend nights here feasting on hot pot dinners and drinking pints of San Miguel, the most popular local beer. When you’re not eating or shopping—you could spend your entire stay in Hong Kong in stores and restaurants and not be disappointed—you can marvel at the city’s many sights. Getting around Hong Kong is a breeze. The locals speak English, a holdover from British rule, and the public transit is one of the world’s most efficient. Stroll through the streets to gaze up at the over 1,300 skyscrapers of the city’s skyline, and then ride the tram up to Victoria Peak, the highest point in the city, for a better vantage point. Ride the Star Ferry across the harbour connecting mainland Kowloon to Hong Kong Island to see the city from the water.

Bangkok by Bike
This morning, get off the beaten track and see an authentic side of Bangkok on this unique bicycle tour. Taking a route which is almost completely traffic free, you and your guide will explore at a relaxed pace, allowing you to fully enjoy both the ride and the surroundings. Visit a local Buddhist temple and a small handmade sandal shop, then take a trip across the Chao Phraya River on a long-tail boat. You'll notice the contrasts between villas, luxurious apartment buildings, townhouses and small factories. Continue on through a small neighbourhood community and stop by a local elementary school (please note that the school is not open on weekends and holidays). Afterwards, spend some time in the "jungle", otherwise known as the Green Lung of Bangkok. You will stop regularly to rest and hydrate, and a delicious local meal will be provided at the halfway point.
