Elephant Hills Jungle Safari

3 Days
Prices From:
US$ 698

A unique experience in a luxury jungle camp in Khao Sok National Park, a tropical rainforest in Central Thailand, See amazing bird and animal life and enjoy camping in beautiful surroundings.

Want to experience a luxury jungle camp experience which combines the camp idea of African national parks with the Thai tropical rainforest? Elephant Hills is Thailand's first luxury jungle camp located in Khao Sok National Park situated in the centre of southern Thailand within easy driving distance from Phuket, Khao Lak, Krabi and Ko Samui. Khao Sok is one of the wettest areas in Thailand with an average annual rainfall of around 3,500 mm between the months of May and November. At other times of the year the area is generally dry apart from the odd day of rain which helps to maintain the lush surrounding rainforest. Khao Sok is made up of hundreds of limestone Karst Mountains which vary in height from around 400 metres/1300 feet to 960 metres/3100 feet at their highest peaks. Wake up to the sounds of nature and birds calling from the bushes close to the tent, and sit by the campfire at night to share travel tales of the rainforest.

You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred by road to Khao Sok. On arrival, participate in the “Elephant Experience” interacting with the animals and feeding them. After a buffet lunch, take a Canoe trip down the Sok River past limestone mountains and cliffs. Later, settle into your luxury safari tent. Perhaps then simply relax or enjoy the wide selection of drinks at the “Jungle Explorers Club Bar” followed by dinner and overnight.

The following morning brings a boat trip to a lake surrounded by mountains and cliffs covered in tropical rainforest. The lake which is 60 kilometres/37 miles long has more than a hundred islands. Enjoy the spectacular scenery, perhaps swim. Return later to the camp.

The next day is the opportunity to explore on foot the rainforest with its magnificent flora and fauna. Lunch (depending on the weather) will be prepared cooked in bamboo.  Later it is time to return to the camp and then return back to your hotel.

Day 3

Elephant Hills - Jungle Trek - Depart

Start the day with a wholesome breakfast before setting out to explore the jungle on foot. This is an opportunity to explore the ecology of one of the world's oldest rainforests, including hardwood trees with huge roots, orchids, palms, ferns, bamboo and mosses. Gibbons can often be heard calling to their mates, you might spot macaque or leaf monkeys swinging through the branches, and beautiful butterflies abound. You will have the chance to walk slowly and really listen, to discover the secrets of the rainforest.
