Sail leisurely through the heart of Myanmar on a Pandaw cruise ship and experience the wealth of fascinating attractions that this country has to offer.
Embark at the city of Mandalay and immediately head north to enjoy a visit to a jungle village. Later return to Mandalay to explore the treasures, namely the pagodas and monasteries which abound here.
Cruising south and after spending time at a village offering spectacular ceramics arrive at the unbelievable town of Bagan, a World Heritage Site containing more than 3000 monuments and temples. A highlight will be to look down on Bagan from a local mountain as the sun rises early in the morning - a sight never to be forgotten.
The next few days will reveal the essence of life in the countryside of Myanmar including visits to local markets, forts, colonial houses and much more.
The final stop is the capital, Yangon where the cruise terminates and where time spent here will prove very rewarding.

Embarkation in Mandalay
You are welcomed on board your ship between 10:30am-11:45am at Sagaing Lay Kyun Man Aung Jetty, Mandalay. Enjoy lunch on board. Afterwards, tour central Mandalay, visiting the Mahamuni Pagoda and Shwe-im-bin teak carved monastery. Next, explore the ancient capital of Amarapura by coach and admire the famous U-Bein Bridge.

Yandabo
Today, move on to explore the ancient capitals of Ava and cruise downstream. In the late afternoon, explore Yandabo, a small rural village which specializes in pot making and visit a local school.

Continue onwards to Bagan, one of the richest archeological sites in the world and undoubtedly the highlight of a journey through Myanmar. This afternoon, tour a selection of the World Heritage monuments and temples.

Bagan
In the morning, moor at Tan-Chi-Taung mountain and ascend the mountain by WW2 jeep or on foot to admire the spectacular sunrise over Bagan. Continue to Sale and visit the Yout-saun-kyaung monastery with its spectacular wood carvings. You'll also explore an area of splendid colonial-style houses.

Magwe
Today, climb the riverbank and wind through a labyrinth of passages and paths to reach the magnificent Myat-thalon Pagoda, constructed with solid gold bricks. Of interest are the many nat shrines and hermitages within the temple precincts.

Minhla and Gwechaung
Today, visit Minhla, an Italian-built forts constructed to keep the British out of Royal Myanmar. Continue on to Thayetmyo, a pleasant colonial town which once guarded the border between Royal Myanmar and British Myanmar, following the Second Anglo Myanmar War of 1855. Many of the buildings, including the covered market, date from the second half of the 19th century. Thayet also boasts the oldest golf course in Myanmar, which opened in 1885. Visit the market and colonial houses, then ride by horse cart to the golf course, passing through the botanical garden.

Visit Prome and travel by coach to the fifth century archaeological site of Thiri-ya-kittiya, the former centre of the Pyu civilization. Visit a fascinating museum showcasing early Buddhist artifacts and sculptures.
