Thailand Unplugged with Air

Duration
9 Days
Prices From:
US$ 3,169

Escape to Thailand for a rejuvenating stay in Bangkok and Phuket. In Bangkok, learn to cook Thai cuisine at the Blue Elephant Cooking School and discover hidden temples and farms before heading to Phuket to spend three days relaxing in spas and snorkelling through the clear waters.

This 9-day Thai vacation takes you to Bangkok and Phuket to experience the best of the country and relax, rejuvenate, and refresh yourself. It includes first-class or deluxe accommodations depending on preference, international airfare, private tours, and is perfect for solo travellers or anyone seeking wellness on a beach escape.

Your Thailand Unplugged trip takes you across the Pacific Ocean to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand and the most-visited city on the planet. It won’t take long to notice Bangkok’s stunning contrasts. Massive skyscrapers sit beside wooden huts; luxury malls jostle for baht alongside bustling farmers’ markets—no one side of Bangkok is quintessential. It takes both the big and small, rich and modest, to capture what makes Bangkok so invigorating. On your first day in the city you will start with with a half day tour of some of Bangkok's famous canals, or "Klongs". This is a fantastic chance to view local life and enjoy a stop at Wat Arun, an ancient temple with a towering pagoda. Later, head to the Blue Elephant Cooking School to learn to make delicious Thai dishes.

The next day, head off the tourist trail on a bike tour across the city. Discover hidden temples, travel along the canal, and stop off at flower farms to learn about some of Thailand’s oldest traditions. Spend the rest of your time in Bangkok seeing the famous landmarks like Wat Arun, Wat Phra Kaew, and the Grand Palace, former home of the King of Thailand.

From Bangkok, fly south to fabulous Phuket, the famous island paradise on the Andaman Sea. Staying at a first-class or deluxe resort on the island, you’ll enjoy comfortable accommodations and have two full days at leisure to enjoy the famous tropical atmosphere. Spend your time rejuvenating in the spa with massages and wellness treatments, or engage with the local culture by learning Muay Thai, the nation’s traditional martial art. Tour nearby James Bond Island or head to ancient temples to get in touch with the country’s traditions. Snorkel through the clear waters, enjoy the famous white-sand beaches, and explore the lush mountains.

At the end of your stay, connect to the airport and fly back home.

Day 4

Half day Colors of Bangkok Bike Tour Private

Colors of Bangkok, is a popular half day Bangkok bicycle tour, takes participants through a part of the Thai capital which they will never see on their own. A part where there is almost no traffic, just narrow streets and backyards. Bangkok as you have never imagined!

After a quick bicycle fitting you start with the Bangkok bicycle adventure. During the first part of the tour you see standalone villas, luxurious apartment buildings, town houses and in between shops, companies and small factories. You make a first stop at one of the many hidden local communities in Bangkok. You might call it a slum, but the local people call it 'home'. The people who live here belong to the poorest people in Bangkok, but they are very friendly, polite and generous and give us a warm welcome every day.You walk through this small community and stop at the slum kindergarten. The very poorest children receive education here while their parents are working. Visiting slum areas makes you remind that life is not that easy for everyone. Recreational Bangkok Biking wanted to help to make this place a little bit better. You continue your Colors of Bangkok bicycle excursion in the 'City of Angels' and make a stop at a sweatshop before you arrive at the pier. Here you board a typical Thai longtail boat to cross the mighty Chao Phraya river. At the other side of the river you find yourselves back in the 'Jungle' or the 'Green Lung' of Bangkok, the greenest area in the city. You cycle on elevated pathways through lush vegetation and in the shade of coconut palms and banana trees.

Halfway the tour, you stop at a local restaurant and you enjoy a small Thai meal, Pad Thai (Thai noodles) or Khao Pad (fried rice). After your meal, you visit a very old, non-touristy Buddhist temple. The guide will tell you everything about this temple and about Buddhism in general.

You return to the pier where you take a short boat ride back to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok again. You make a last stop at an open-air Muay Thai school. Muay Thai, or Thai Boxing, is the national sport and cultural martial art of Thailand and its origin dates back several hundred years. Participants of this Colors of Bangkok bicycle tour will learn and see how daily life passes by for Bangkokians.
