Please see left bar for ship details and cruise info.

This 13-day cruise aboard the bountiful Norwegian Jewel takes you to the best of southeast Australia and New Zealand’s North Island.

Embark in Sydney, Australia’s largest city. Ride over the massive natural harbor, visit the iconic Harbour Bridge and tour the unforgettable Sydney Opera House. Take a hike in the nearby Blue Mountains or say “G’day” to kangaroos, koalas and other marsupials at the Taronga Zoo. Relax on famous Bondi Beach and work on your tan or dine in world class restaurants.

From Sydney, head to Melbourne, Australia’s cultural capital and second largest city. The Economist has consistently voted Melbourne the most livable city in the world. With its mixture of vibrant arts and culture and high living standards, it’s not hard to see why. Start your visit in Federation Square and see the laneway and rooftop bars and restaurants that lead the city’s trendy culinary scene. Hit up St. Kilda’s with its famous amusement park, Luna Park. Enjoy a pint in bohemian Fitzroy and talk football, cricket or Formula One with the sports-crazed locals.

Burnie on the southern island of Tasmania is the “City of Makers.” This industrial city was dismissed in the past, but its vibrant creative present has made a new name for itself. Visit the Makers’ Workshop and try your hand at making paper. Also be sure to check out the Little Penguin Observation Centre and see penguins as they come ashore each evening.

As you travel from Tasmania to the northern island of New Zealand, you’ll enjoy the amenities of the Norwegian Jewel. With over 16 dining options, 15 bars and nightclubs, a casino, pool, spa and theatre shows, you’ll find plenty of fun onboard. After a few days at sea, anchor at Wellington, the nation’s capital and its second largest city. Ride the red Wellington Cable Car to the Botanical Gardens and look out over Cook Straight. Also be sure to check out a museum as the National Archives, National Art Gallery, National Library and Museum of New Zealand are all within the city.

On the east coast, Napier was destroyed by an earthquake in 1931 and rebuilt in the art deco style of the time. Walk down the Marine Parade, a tree-filled boulevard where the Maori statue, Pania of the Reef, stands. Enjoy the local wines from the region’s many wineries. Further north is Tauranga, New Zealand’s fastest growing city and busiest port. Visit Mount Maunganui, a nearby extinct volcano that sits above the town. Tauranga is also close to the geothermal marvel of Rotorua. There you can see mud pools, hot springs and Pohutu Geyser, which shoots 30 metres high.

Continue up the coast to see the 140 subtropical islands of the Bay of Islands. Swim off the beaches or enjoy the vast fishing opportunities. Disembark in Auckland, the largest city in the country with a population of 1,495,000. Auckland is as picturesque as a city can get. It’s surrounded by two natural harbours which frame the rocky isthmus upon which it stands. Climb the Sky Tower to view the harbours from high above, or visit Auckland Domain to see a park built around an extinct volcano.

This cruise through the coastal centres of Australia and New Zealand is a perfect way to experience these nations’ vibrant mix of stunning landscape and world-class city life.
