Get to the heart of Australia’s most famous city as you hike, bike, and venture to some of Sydney’s most iconic sites. Climb Sydney Harbour Bridge, hike through the Blue Mountains, enjoy a wine tasting in the Hunter Valley, and surf at Bondi Beach for an Australian vacation you’ll never forget.

This 8-day Australian vacation takes you to Sydney and its surroundings for an active adventure. It features moderate accommodations, shared tours, and is great for active travellers in Australia for the first time.

Your journey begins in Sydney, Australia’s largest city and one of the most beautiful centres in the world. You’ll have four nights in Sydney to experience its many natural and urban attractions. A walking tour will unveil the historical attractions of The Rocks, the oldest neighbourhood in the city, while a guided tour of the Sydney Opera House will take you behind the scenes of the city’s most famous attraction and one of the most beloved architectural marvels in the world. Another day, head on a bicycle tour to see the city while getting in some exercise, journeying from Circular Quay to Hyde Park and the Royal Botanic Gardens. On your final day in Sydney, embark on the ultimate adventure with BridgeClimb at the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Your three-and-a-half-hour adventure takes you to the top of the Harbour Bridge for the best views of the Opera House and Darling Harbour.

One day, venture into the Blue Mountains to explore the natural world just outside the city. Start in Calmsley Hill and start ascending into the mountains on the way to Eaglehawk Lookout, where you’ll savour stunning views of the Three Sisters, some of Australia’s most magnificent rock formations. Stop off at the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens before returning to Sydney for the night. The next day, head to Bondi Beach to learn to surf along the world’s most famous surf paradise.

During your final couple days in Australia, you’ll head into the Hunter Valley, Australia’s oldest wine region, to enjoy a wine tasting in the company of a wine master, and enjoy the Hunter Valley Wine Theatre Experience. Return to Sydney to head on a guided night safari inside Taronga Zoo, where you can have the zoo to yourself and see marsupials come alive at nighttime. The following morning, after a guided tour of the zoo, head to the airport to return home.

Consider extending your stay in Australia to see all that the land Downunder has to offer.

Blue Mountains - Hike the World Heritage

The Blue Mountains National Park is one of seven national parks that make up the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. This wonderland of sandstone outcrops, deep ravines and hazy blue eucalypt forests boasts luxury retreats and stunning views. Today your guide will take you off the beaten track to visit remote lookout locations and discuss the history, flora and fauna of this magnificent region.

At 7:00am-7:30am depart from the hotel with AEA Luxury Tours. Our first stop of the day is at Calmsley Hill a working farm also home to Kangaroos, Emus, Wombats and Koalas. Enjoy morning tea and time to wander at leisure.

From Calmsley Hill we continue to ascend the Blue Mountains via the highway. We will visit one of the range of stunning outlooks of the Jamison Valley seeing beautiful vistas. Where possible this will be away from the crowds of tours that visit the mountains each day with other operators, thus our guests will enjoy a stress and hurry-free environment taking in the views and information imparted by their guide.

Continuing on we arrive at Eaglehawk Lookout, a remote lookout point away from the crowds for views of the famous 3 Sisters. Whilst the Blue Mountains features so much more than this natural attraction you can't help but admire the unquestionable beauty of this amazing rock formation. The character of the Three Sisters changes throughout the day and throughout the seasons as the sunlight brings out magnificent colors. Here your guide will discuss the legends behind this famous rock formation and the time available for you to take some great photos.

Traveling around the mountains, we arrive at Evans Lookout where you will be issued your lunch pack and instructions on the hiking track. This is, without doubt, one of the most scenic hikes available in the mountains taking you across a number of valleys and ridges as you hike from Evans Lookout to Govetts Leap all the while looking out across Australia's Grand Canyon, The Grose Valley. The Hike Concludes at Govetts Leap, one of the most famous lookouts in Australia. The magnificent waterfalls drop a whopping 180m to the base of the cliff. If you're not mesmerized by the dancing waves of water spray, you'll be transfixed by the sweeping views down the valley to the Grose Wilderness. Suitable for active people with a reasonable level of fitness.

Our last stop at the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens where there's time for a short inspection of the flora including the ancient Wollemi Pine (Wollemia Nobilis).

From here we commence our return to Sydney to arrive back at your hotel approximately 4:30pm-5:00pm.

Duration10 Hours
Day 5

Bondi Surf Experience

What better place to learn to surf than on world famous Bondi Beach? This popular beginner course teaches you how to safely get out and up onto your first wave. Here you'll be taught in a small group setting of 6 students or less, so you get plenty of hands-on help. To build up your knowledge and confidence, you first start you out on the beach and learn how to recognize surf conditions and practice your surfing technique before you get into the water. Then, it's off into the ocean, where you start off in broken waves, the white foam created after the waves run their course. You'll be amazed at how easy, safe, and enjoyable it can be to learn to surf.
