Australia's Coral Atolls Cruise from Broome

6 Days
On request

The Rowley Shoals feature exaggerated corals, a kaleidoscope of marine life and stunning underwater clarity, but perhaps more important than anything else, they are visited by only a fortunate few! The Rowley Shoals are Western Australia’s premier coral playground!

This 6-day deluxe small group cruise invites you to explore one of Australia’s most dramatic, yet least-travelled coastlines. Cast off on a round trip from Broome in Western Australia and experience the reefs and lagoons of this rugged coastline.

On the northern coast of Western Australia, Broome made its name as a pearling port. But it’s also the gateway to the Rowley Shoals, three atolls off the coast. Your first adventure takes you to Clerke Reef, where the shallow, warm waters are rich with marine life. Try some ‘catch and release’ fishing or snorkel a reef that rivals parts of the Great Barrier Reef for beauty and variety. You can also try an introductory SCUBA dive or hand feed the fish, then feel the exhilaration of a snorkel drive through the outer reef. You’ll have the chance to snorkel here too. The animals get bigger, and sightings of humpback whales, manta rays, and sailfish are not unusual. Go on to Mermaid Reef, where you can snorkel some more, taking in the sights of the Northern Wall and the Cod Hole. Return to Broome overnight, enjoying the blazing Indian Ocean sunset en route.

Day 1

Your "welcome aboard" the luxurious TRUE NORTH is in the frontier pearling port of Broome. Embarkation is at 1700 - time for a cocktail with your fellow adventurers before departing at approximately 1800. Dinner is served shortly after leaving port and then it's overnight steam to the Rowley Shoals.
(Please note that True North Adventure Cruises visits the Rowley Shoals only during the months of September, October, and November. These months are normally associated with "the doldrums" - a period of light winds and calm seas. In addition, the TRUE NORTH is fitted with computer-controlled motion stabilizers that minimize vessel movement. Passengers can, therefore, anticipate comfortable conditions when cruising to the Shoals - however observing the normal precautions associated with the prevention of seasickness is always recommended.)
