The Barossa Valley is Australia’s foremost wine producing region where wine tasting is a must. But it is not all you will enjoy here. You will be surprised by the attractive scenery and the quaint towns. Spend overnight in the heart of the region.

The Barossa Valley is a world class wine region located in South Australia and only 70 kilometres / 45 miles north east from Adelaide. It is Australia’s best known wine producing region and has more than 150 wineries.

Head straight to the Barossa Valley with its vine covered hills scattered with historic villages and of course wineries. Start your wine experience with a tasting at world renowned wine producer, Peter Lehmann after which visit the Torbreck Wine Cellars. Here wine is made using traditional Barossa methods. Continue to the town of Tanunda, the most German influenced and the focal point of the Barossa Valley. With its strong European heritage, distinctive church spires, wineries, cafes, and restaurants, there is plenty to see and do in the town. There is time for a stroll around Tanunda. Afterwards, drive up Mengers Hill for wonderful views of the surrounding neighbourhood. Next stop is Angaston, more English and also home to some of Barossa’s best food. You will have lunch here.

After lunch, more wine tasting and visits which could include Henschkes Winery in Keyneton, or historic Yalumba the biggest family run winery in Australia. If time permits you may visit some small boutique producers.

Later, check into the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort for overnight accommodation.

Return the following morning to Adelaide.
