This morning you will be collected from your accommodation to depart Cairns at 9.00am aboard Big Cat Cruises' fast catamaran from Cairns to Green Island, your journey to the Great Barrier Reef takes only 45 minutes! Swim, snorkel or discover the wonders of the reef in a glass bottom boat coral viewing tour and wander along the rainforest boardwalks before lunch (own expense). Lunch and refreshments can be purchased from the island restaurant and food outlets. Return to Cairns where you will be collected by Cairns Discovery Tours from the Reef Fleet Terminal. Travel in air-conditioned comfort with your local guide; step inside St. Monica's Cathedral where you will marvel at the world's largest themed stainedglass windows. Explore Cairns and delve into the city's history. Visit Cairns Museum at the School of Arts Building, in the heart of the city. You will be greeted by a dedicated guide for an exclusive tour of the museum (free re-entry included, valid for 3 days). Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea before visiting the Cairns Flecker Botanic Gardens to discover the unique flora of the tropics. Enjoy a guided walk in the gardens before continuing you r exploration of Cairns' scenic surrounds. The first stop is a scenic city lookout, overlooking Cairns City and the Coral Sea, so have your camera at the ready. Next, visit Lower Barron Gorge National Park and Surprise Creek Falls where there are plenty more photo opportunities. We continue to Palm Cove, one of Cairns' most picturesque northern beaches. Walk along the jetty or feel the sand between your toes on Palm Cove beach before the tour concludes and return to your chosen accommodation.
