This morning you will be collected from your accommodation and travel to Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. Tjapukai by Day is a celebration of the living history of the Indigenous people of the rainforest. Learn to play the didgeridoo, discover the medicinal values of bush tucker, throw a spear and enjoy professional theatre incorporating traditional Aboriginal dance, fire making and storytelling. New to Tjapukai is a genuine cultural and visual Australian journey featuring the didgeridoo
plus an expansion of the Cultural Village's program to include hunting demonstrations. 12 Noon you will be collected from Tjapukai and met by your Cairns Discovery Tours. Travel in air-conditioned comfort with your local guide; step inside St. Monica's Cathedral where you will marvel at the world's largest themed stained-glass windows. Explore Cairns and delve into the city's history. Visit Cairns Museum at the School of Arts Building, in the heart of the city. You will be greeted by a dedicated guide for an exclusive tour of the museum (free re-entry included, valid for 3 days). Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea before visiting the Cairns Flecker Botanic Gardens to discover the unique flora of the tropics.
Enjoy a guided walk in the gardens before continuing your exploration of Cairns' scenic surrounds. The first stop is a scenic city lookout, overlooking Cairns City and the Coral Sea, so have your camera at the ready. Next, visit Lower Barron Gorge National Park and Surprise Creek Falls where there are plenty more photo opportunities. We continue to Palm Cove, one of Cairns' most picturesque northern beaches. Walk along the jetty or feel the sand between your toes on Palm Cove beach before the tour concludes and return to your chosen accommodation at approx. 6.00pm
