Coast & Hinterland Self Drive
- Duration
- 7 Days
- Prices From:

Spend a week with a self drive car from Brisbane with stops along the Sunshine Coast with its dramatic cliff scenery and white sandy beaches. You will also have a guided overnight tour to Fraser Island plus a stay in the hinterland of the region.
From Brisbane, drive north to Caloundra, one of Australia's fastest growing vacation destinations located at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast. It is known for its white sandy beaches and its dramatic backdrop of mountains. The several beaches in Caloundra make it the perfect place for a sunny, beach stopover. Overnight in Caloundra.
The following day, continue north again to Rainbow Beach where you will stay for the next 2 nights. This small relaxed resort is situated at the base of some colourful cliffs with white sandy beaches and rolling surf. Here you can simply take it easy, swim with dolphins or explore the surrounding forested countryside. The next day is yours to do whatever you want.
Next, head to nearby Fraser Island for 1 night’s accommodation, a place of exceptional beauty offering long uninterrupted white beaches flanked by strikingly coloured sand cliffs. It has over 100 freshwater lakes, some browny coloured and others clear and blue all ringed by white sandy beaches. It is home to a small number of mammal species as well as a diverse range of birds, reptiles and amphibians including the occasional saltwater crocodile. You will be accompanied on your visit here by an experienced local guide who will show you around.
Return the following day back to Rainbow Beach for one more night before then heading into the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast. Montville is the cultural heart of the region and is renowned for its beautiful parks and waterfalls. Popular attractions include galleries, restaurants, wineries, cheese factories and craft and clothing shops. The world-renowned Australia Zoo is only a 20-minute drive away. Overnight in Montville before returning back to Brisbane.
