Experience the best of Australia's icons and culture with this journey from Sydney to Tasmania. This Australia vacation showcases Sydney's most popular sights, including the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, before taking you to Uluru/Ayers Rock in the country's Red Centre and the secluded landscapes and rugged coastlines of Tasmania.

This 14-day Australia vacation showcases some of the country's most iconic sights, from the picturesque coastline of Sydney to Uluru/Ayers Rock in the Red Centre to the gorgeous landscape of Tasmania. With a specific focus on the country's indigenous past, this trip to Australia is perfect for anyone wanting to experience the essence of this great nation.

Like most Australia vacations, your trip begins in Sydney, the country's largest city and one of the most picturesque metropolises on the planet. Gifted with a gorgeous natural harbour, Sydney is a photographer's dream. A sightseeing tour is the perfect way to start your exploration of the city and take in some of its iconic sights, including the Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, and the Sydney Opera House. You'll also have a chance to tour the Opera House and learn about its fascinating history and architectural achievements. Take a break from the city's architecture to explore the region's cultural past on a Dreamtime tour in the company of an indigenous elder. You'll also head into the Blue Mountains to experience some pristine landscape within a stone's throw of the city, including the unforgettable lookout, Govett's Leap, which boasts a 180m-high waterfall.

From Sydney, pass into Australia's Red Centre, where you'll find the ultimate icon of the Outback, Uluru/Ayers Rock. This massive limestone monolith has held deep significance for Australia's inhabitants for millennia. You'll get a taste of its majestic power with the Field of Light, an incredible multimedia show that illuminates the rock after sundown and plays out a series of visual stories drawing on indigenous myths. The next day, explore the incredible landscape of the Red Centre. Starting before sundown, you'll traverse the Outback and experience the quiet pre-dawn world. After a bush breakfast as the sun rises, you'll tour Uluru and Kata Tjuta and learn about the history of the Anangu people and their relationship to these natural icons. You'll also visit Cave Hill, home to incredible indigenous rock paintings from thousands of years ago that detail the Seven Sisters creation story.

Finish your Australia vacation by heading to the island of Tasmania and its capital city, Hobart. Hobart is famous for being the endpoint of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race that takes place on Boxing Day each year. But it's also in the midst of a cultural resurgence, with renewed focus on its historic past as well as cultural accomplishments of its present. One such accomplishment is MONA, the Museum of Old and New Art, which is the largest private collection of art in Australia. A tour of this art gallery will introduce you to countless masterworks.

After exploring the city, head on a cruise to experience the rugged coastline around Bruny Island. You'll pass through deep sea caves and spot seals, dolphins, and sea birds as you traverse the waters. Later, head to Port Arthur to visit its historic site and see the island's most famous critter, Tasmanian Devils. Close out your exploration of Tasmania with a one-two punch of nature. First, visit Wineglass Bay and Freycinet National Park to see pink granite mountains and pristine waters that stop off at lookouts with unforgettable views. Then, pass onto the Cradle Mountain World Heritage Area to hike historical trails along mountains and lakes and see wonderful creatures like wombats in their natural environment.

This Australia vacation highlights the diverse landscape and incredible culture of this southern nation.
