East Coast Beachin' - Trip for 18 - 39 Year Olds

14 Days
Prices From:
US$ 2,538

Surf, sail, and island-hop your way through Queensland on this Aussie adventure. Leave all things urban behind as you visit beautiful beaches, a proper Aussie farm, a national park, and the odd World Heritage Site. Soak up the sun and enjoy the coast from Cairns to Sydney.

This 14-day Australian vacation takes you on an adventure through Queensland. It features budget and moderate accommodations, including a stay on a yacht and at a farm, shared tours, and is perfect for 18 to 30-somethings.

Your Aussie adventure begins in Cairns, the gateway city to the Great Barrier Reef in northeastern Queensland. Meet up with your crew and go on an orientation tour along the waterfront before spending the rest of the day as you see fit. You’ll have another day at leisure in Cairns to follow your fancy. Get your blood pumping by bungee jumping or skydiving, or plan an excursion out onto the Great Barrier Reef to scuba dive alongside turtles and reef sharks. Connect to Townsville and ride the ferry to Magnetic Island, where you’ll enjoy your own secluded paradise of hidden beaches and fringing reef. Visit the wildlife park and snap a selfie with a koala before boarding a yacht and enjoying views of the sunset as you sail to the Whitsundays.

The Whitsundays are among Australia’s most popular vacation destinations, with year-round warm water and beautiful sandy beaches. You’ll stop off at the most famous of the beaches, Whitehaven Beach, where you can soak up some rays before disembarking at Arlie Beach. Leave the coast behind and head to Myella Farm where you’ll embrace your inner jackaroo or jillaroo. Spend a day on the working cattle farm, learning how to crack a whip, milk a cow, or kick back at the pool and enjoy the idylls of the farm. Afterwards, head back to the coast and connect to Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island and home to the longest beach in Queensland. You’ll have a full day to explore the island at your leisure. You can hike Eli Creek, spot wildlife at Lake McKenzie, or take a scenic flight over the island to appreciate the dunes from the air.

Hop down the coast to Brisbane and the Gold Coast, one of Australia’s premier beach spots. Enjoy the golden sands before heading to boho Byron Bay, where latte, yoga, and all-night parties are the norm. (Chris Hemsworth has a home here, so you know it’s the place to be.) After a day spent sunbathing, hanging in out in a local beer garden, or kayaking alongside friendly dolphins, you’ll connect onward to Surf Camp, where you’ll learn how to carve like a pro.

On the final day of your adventure, stop by the Hunter Valley to sample some Australia wines and stock up on a few bottles before reaching Sydney, where your journey ends.
