Essence of the Red Centre: Ayers Rock, Kings Canyon & Alice Springs

Duration
5 Days
Prices From:
US$ 1,157

FIRST-CLASS | TAILOR-MADE: Immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of Australia’s Red Centre by visiting and learning about some of the country’s most iconic areas. See the sunset over Ayers Rock, visit the 36 rock domes of the Olgas, and travel to spectacular Kings Canyon and then Alice Springs.

This 5-day Outback adventure takes you to the heart of Australia for a journey through both its desert beauty, and the culture of its traditional owners, the Anangu people.

Fly to Australia’s Red Centre, where you’ll discover the mystical sandstone configurations of Uluru/Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta/The Olgas. Start with a tour of Walpa Gorge and explore the 36 sandstone domes of Kata Tjuta. A Sounds of Silence dinner that evening transforms the desert into a magical landscape. Sip on sparkling wine as the sun sets over the desert and allow the sound of the didgeridoo to transform the landscape. Then feast on a delicious meal with the changing colours of Uluru as your backdrop. After a perfect sunset, comes the perfect sunrise, followed by a guided day exploring the lands around Uluru and learning about local Aboriginal legends.

Kings Canyon is one of the Outback’s most dramatic landmarks, with orange-red cliffs towering over the tops of lush trees that shade the canyon floor. It’s no accident that one of the most picturesque points as you descend into the canyon is called the Garden of Eden. The rim walk also provides awesome views before you drive on to Alice Springs, stopping at a working cattle/camel station on the way.

Transfer to the Alice Springs Airport for your onward travels, or stay an extra day or two to discover more of what makes life in ‘the Alice’ so unique.
