This 4-day Australia vacation takes you through the Flinders Range of South Australia.

Your Australia vacation begins in Adelaide, the capital of Australia, where you’ll connect to Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park. You’ll spend your days exploring the Flinders Ranges, one of the most picturesque mountain ranges in all of Australia. Explore the ruins of a massive cattle station at the Kanyaka Station Homestead Ruins, pass through the world-famous natural amphitheatre of Wilpena Pound, and explore the copper mining town of Blinman. This tour of the Flinders Ranges also takes you to Nilpena Station, where you’ll traverse red sand dunes and survey 500-million-year-old fossils at the Ediacaran Fossil Site, as well as the Clare Valley, where you’ll sample some of South Australia’s best wine vintages.

During this Australia vacation through Flinders Ranges, you’ll stay two nights at the award-winning Rawnsley Park Station, where you’ll enjoy true Outback hospitality and a delicious dinner at the Woolshed Restaurant. You’ll also stay a night at the famous Prairie Hotel and indulge in one of its unmissable cult food experiences.

Day 1

Adelaide to Flinders Ranges

Your Flinders Ranges Odysseys guide will pick you up from your Adelaide hotel around 7.30am to commence your 4 day tour into the Flinders Ranges. Sit back and relax while you travel through the mid-north region of South Australia stopping at Peterborough for lunch.
Follow the R.M. Williams Way where the majestic Flinders Ranges come into view as you get closer to the outback town of Hawker. On the way, stop at Kanyaka Station Homestead Ruins and see what's left of this once massive sheep and cattle station of about 950 square kilometres. Late afternoon, arrive at Rawnsley Park Station, your home for the next two nights.

Rawnsley Park overlooks the southern side of Wilpena Pound and provides the perfect base for exploring the Finders Ranges. This evening enjoy an Aussie Sheep Station tour followed by a 2-course dinner in the Woolshed Restaurant, an authentic Australian converted woolshed serving delicious Modern Australian cuisine.

Day 2

Flinders Ranges

Early this morning join the guided walk to Rawnsley Bluff followed by a hearty breakfast. Spend the day touring around Wilpena Pound and the southern Flinders Ranges including the local sights, picturesque gorges and walks. If you want, your guide will be able to organise a scenic flight (additional cost) or you may wish to take one of the walks into Wilpena Pound.
This evening, join a tour of the old woolshed and enjoy a 3-course Lamb Tasting food experience where local lamb from the property will be showcased, and prepared in three different and delicious courses. Clare Valley wines will be matched with each course. These dinners are only held on selected dates and are hosted by the Farm Manager. The dinner will finish with South Australian ports and local cheeses. (Vegetarians will be catered for).

Day 3

Flinders Ranges

This morning, relax with breakfast in your private Holiday Unit and then farewell your hosts and Rawnsley Park Station and tour through to the small outback copper mining town of Blinman, a truly historic town with a unique heritage and character.
Leaving Blinman, travel through the beautiful Parachilna Gorge and enjoy a scenic drive through to Parachilna. Arrive at Australia's #1 Outback Hotel, the Prairie Hotel, where their "cult" feral food menu has been recognised as 1 of 20 "unmissable outback experiences" and has people from all over the world talking about the unique and delicious food. You'll get to enjoy one of their Signature Antipasto Platters for lunch.
After lunch visit the Nilpena Station and be taken on a fascinating tour of the working Cattle Station, red sand dunes and the Ediacaran Fossil Site, where you'll see fossils that are over 500 million years old. Finish the day off with sunset drinks on the verandah and canapes at the Prairie Hotel, followed by a stunning 3-course A La Carte dinner.

Day 4

Flinders Ranges to Adelaide

Start your day with a delicious cooked breakfast before departing Parachilna and travel south with the western side of the Flinders Ranges in view. Stop at the old railway township of Quorn, before continuing your journey through to the charmingly secluded Clare Valley, one of Australia's oldest wine growing regions. With its picturesque, rolling countryside, unique geography, and climate you will see why it is a premium grape growing area.
Here you will enjoy wine tastings and lunch at the family owned Paulett Wines Cellar Door and Bush Devine Café inspired and partly sourced from the adjacent Bush Food Garden. Located in the Polish Hill River region of the Clare Valley, Paulett Wines is named after the Polish Settlers of the mid 1800's. After lunch, farewell Clare and return to Adelaide, arriving approximately 5.30pm at your chosen accommodation.
