Gold Coast & Great Barrier Reef Getaway

Duration
10 Days
Prices From:
US$ 2,299

Experience the coastal highlights of Queensland on an air-inclusive vacation. Start in the Gold Coast where you’ll enjoy Australia’s beach culture. Fly north to Cairns, the centre of tropical north Queensland, to visit the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest coral reef.

This 10-day Australian vacation takes you across Queensland from the Gold Coast to Cairns. It features moderate or first class accommodations depending on preference, international airfare, shared tours, and is ideal for a second visit to Australia.

Cross the Pacific Ocean and arrive in Brisbane, the country’s third largest city and the city of sunny days, and connect to the Gold Coast, one of Australia’s premier stretches of coastline. One day, you’ll head on a wilderness journey to the UNESCO-listed rainforests of Lamington National Park. Hike over Tamborine Mountain, explore the 400ac-property of Spring Gully, and enjoy the stunning views of the countryside from O’Reilly’s Plateau. Another day, relax at Surfers’ Paradise, taking advantage of the 14 shopping centres, gorgeous beachfront, and stylish resorts like Main Beach.

From Gold Coast, connect to Cairns in northeastern Queensland, the Gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Stroll along the Promenade, take a dip in the saltwater lagoon, and go on a coastal drive towards Port Douglas to experience the beautiful coastline. Head on a full day catamaran cruise to Agincourt Reef to explore the Great Barrier Reef. Dive beneath the waves, snorkel over coral gardens, and soak up the glory of this underwater world.

The final two days of your trip to Australia are at leisure in Cairns. Arrange a further visit to the Great Barrier Reef to take full advantage of your proximity or venture inland into Northern Queensland’s rainforests. Ride the Skyrail through the Daintree Rainforest or visit Kuranda, the village in the forest, where you can get in touch with Indigenous Australian traditions and explore the jungle’s wild side.

At the end of your stay, connect back home.

The Treetop Boardwalk through the rainforest canopy offers a bird's eye view of this enchanting area, especially for those who climb the observation tower. Leaving O'Reilly's we take in the magnificent view of mountains and valleys with a 300 degree view from the Gold Coast to Brisbane and around to the great Dividing Range.
