Duration
5 Days
Prices From:
US$ 1,181

It’s not uncommon for a New Zealand vacation to get the blood pumping, but few let you experience New Zealand travel like this guided cycling tour of the spectacular Otago region.

This 4-day cycling adventure gets your heart racing in one of the most beautiful countries on earth. Travel to New Zealand and set out from Queenstown, biking your way from the mountains to the sea.

Set out by rail from Queenstown, New Zealand’s most popular resort town, bound for Clyde, where you’ll be briefed by your tour guide and acquainted with your bike. From here, you ride out past the famous vineyards to Alexandra. The route features options for fitter or more adventurous riders, before meeting up with the group for a home baked morning tea. Lunch is at an historic stone tavern, before a mountainous ride in the afternoon takes you to Omakau.

Pollburn gorge highlights your second day’s adventures, before reaching Idaburn Dam, one of only a few outdoor winter curling sites in New Zealand. Visit the Golden Progress Mine before overnighting at a local B&B. Enjoy a downhill cycling day to Ranfurly, noted for its Art Deco architecture, before cycling along the Taieri River, which follows the Rock and Pillar Range. Your last day’s ride is a short one, giving you the option of a Taieri Gorge Train trip to Dunedin, or returning to Clyde by bus. Transfer back to Queenstown is also available.
