New Zealand Voyager Premier Escorted Vacation

Duration
10-25 Days
Prices From:
US$ 4,821

Join this beautiful Premier Escorted Vacation of New Zealand, travelling by luxury coach. Experience Maori culture, cosmopolitan cities, and the pristine wilderness of New Zealand's North and South Islands. Enjoy first class accommodation, sightseeing, Freedom of Choice Dining and Touring options, and the services of a dedicated Tour Director and Driver.

Take the stress out of planning a New Zealand vacation, seeing all the highlights in comfort while letting someone else do the driving. Get a quick Kiwi summary in 10 days including Queenstown, Auckland, and their surrounds, or extend to 25 days with a cruise around New Zealand, ending across the Tasman with stops in two of Australia’s most exciting cities, Hobart and Melbourne, before disembarking in Sydney.

Land in Christchurch, and if time allows, see a little of the city’s efforts to renew itself as an artistic and culinary hub, or perhaps visit the Canterbury Museum to put your upcoming trip into perspective. Then meet your group for a welcome dinner before boarding the TranzAlpine Train, bound for the spectacular West Coast. This is one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys, preparing you for visiting one of New Zealand’s most scenic landmarks, Franz Josef Glacier.

Continue through an eye-popping landscape that includes spots like Haast Pass, until you reach Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand. Here, your options are endless, from a gentle gondola ride up to spectacular views over Lake Wakatipu, to the excitement of jet boating through the Shotover River canyons. So choose an activity to suit your own interests and preferred adrenaline level before driving on to Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest peak, and Lake Tekapo.

Return to Christchurch for your flight to Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city and one of the most liveable cities in the world. Go out to the Bay of Islands, visiting the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and see other sights from Maori history. Then choose your activities for the following two days. You might enjoy dolphin watching, visiting the nearby town of Russell, or day tripping to Cape Reinga.

If you’ve opted for the 25-day itinerary, your adventure is just beginning. Check into your cabin for a two week cruise down New Zealand’s east coast, ending with time in Australia. Start at Tauranga, gateway to Rotorua, known as New Zealand’s spectacular geothermal laboratory. Then go on to Napier, where you’ll see some of the best loved art deco architecture in the world outside Miami.
Sail into Wellington, New Zealand’s capital, famous for its botanic gardens, bar and café culture, and movie industry. You can embark on a safari along the coast to see seals if you’d prefer, or visit some of the locations from the Lord of the Rings films. Across the straight on the South Island, pull into Picton, and perhaps embark on a Wines of Marlborough tour, tasting arguably the world’s best Sauvignon Blanc.

Sail on to coastal stops like Akaroa, which brings a touch of French culture to New Zealand, and Dunedin, widely regarded as the country’s most Scottish city, before rounding the country’s southern tip and entering Fjordland National Park. You’re entering some wild and remote territory here, so keep a look out for bottlenose and dusky dolphins, penguins, and other wildlife as you explore this spectacular coastline.

Enjoy two days at sea, pulling into Hobart, capital of Tasmania. This is one of Australia’s prettiest and most historic cities, so take some time to immerse yourself in its stories before sailing on to Melbourne, the cultural and sporting capital of Australia. Get an eyeful of this sprawling city from the Eureka Skydeck, or dive into some tasty treats like a local at Queen Victoria Market. The inner city is packed with boutiques, cafes, and street-art lined laneways, and the tram system – free within the central business grid – makes it a pleasure to explore.

You might not have heard of the town of Eden on the New South Wales coast. But this little fishing town has a big history, particularly in regard to the killer whales that often swim close to its shores. A stop here offers a local highlight before you reach sparkling Sydney Harbour. Disembark in Sydney and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
