  • Experience tasty tropical fruits on your next Australia vacations.
  • Discover Kakadu National Park during your next trip to Australia.
  • Katherine Gorge Sunset Cruise
  • Explore Northern Territory of Australia
  • Explore Longitude 131 on your next Australia vacations.

Pass from the south to the north of Australia with this exploration of Victoria and the Northern Territory's Top End. On this Australia vacation you’ll live it up in cosmopolitan Melbourne in Victoria, see the tropical city of Darwin, and explore Kakadu and Katherine National Parks. This is nature, wildlife and culture at it's finest.

This 10-day Australia vacation takes you from the country’s capital of culture and fine living, into the wilds of the outback for the ultimate Downunder contrast. Enjoy the coastal sights and cultural charms of Melbourne, then get out there in Kakadu National Park and Katherine Gorge.

Recognised as one of the world’s most liveable cities, Melbourne offers you big city sophistication surrounded by some of Australia’s most dramatic and lively coastline. After settling in, a day trip takes you to Phillip Island, famous for its wide array of Australian wildlife, and the nightly ‘Little Penguin parade’ that sees these adorable birds come ashore to their burrows. The tour also includes some of Melbourne’s most impressive sights including St Patrick’s Cathedral, Fitzroy Gardens, and the Queen Victoria Markets. The following day, embark on a walking tour of Melbourne’s famous laneways and arcades, where creativity and great shopping define the inner city. In the evening, enjoy an early dinner aboard the Colonial Tramcar restaurant. One last day in Victoria takes you for a day trip along the Great Ocean Road, where the wild winds and waves of the Southern Ocean have shaped unique formations such as the Twelve Apostles, a series of limestone stacks that now stand guard over this dramatic coastline.

Fly on to Darwin, Australia’s less-visited northern capital city. While this is your gateway to Kakadu National Park, a city tour will reveal the unique history created by Darwin’s position and tactical significance, particularly during World War 2. Nowhere do Aboriginal, Asian, and white colonial cultures come together quite so completely as they do in Darwin. Then it’s on to the Adelaide River, home to over 1,600 crocodiles (you’ll even spend the night inside one…though not the scaly kind), along with hundreds of bird species and much more. Kakadu is a treasure trove of Australian wildlife, all defined by its tropical landscape, and interpreted through over 20,000 years of indigenous Australian history. You’ll have the chance to explore some of that rich heritage before being taken to Katherine Gorge, one of the Australian outback’s most impressive and wildlife-rich natural formations. See a wide variety of waterfalls and other natural features as you explore this beautiful country, before returning to Darwin for your flight home.

Afterwards proceed to the Nitmiluk Visitor Centre for breakfast. The Display Centre and Heritage Museum features large scale models illustrating the flora, fauna and rock formations of the park. If you would like to purchase your own memory of Nitmiluk, the centre has a range of souvenirs and artefacts handmade by the Jawoyn people. Next stop is Leliyn (Edith Falls).
