Phillip Island is best known for its ‘Little Penguin Parade’ at dusk. An overnight stay however, reveals it to be home to many more native animals, including koalas and Australia’s largest fur seal colony. You’ll also have the chance to pet and feed kangaroos, wallabies and a range of animals at the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park

Itinerary

Day 1

Melbourne to Phillip Island

Depart Melbourne mid-morning and head towards Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park. Get up close and personal with the friendly residents of this Eco-Certified sanctuary, hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies. After a light BBQ lunch make your way to Phillip Island where you will be dropped off at The Island Accommodation in the early afternoon. After checking in the afternoon can be spend exploring this magical island coastline at your own leisure.

Day 2

Phillip Island to Melbourne

After a light breakfast you have free time in the morning where you can take a stroll along the beach prior to your early afternoon pick up at from The Island Accommodation. From here you travel to historic Churchill Island, where you will see sheep shearing and working dogs in action. You also visit the Koala Conservation Centre to meet some of the friendly locals. Walk among the treetops and view and learn about the numerous wild koalas up close at this iconic wildlife attraction. Next stop is the stunning Cape Woolamai surf beach and the Nobbies before arriving at Summerland beach for the nightly penguin parade - Home to Victoria's largest colony of little penguins, Summerland Beach provides the backdrop to the world famous Penguin Parade. Watch as hundreds of little penguins make their way across the beach and return to their sand dune burrows. In the evening you depart Penguin Parade to return back to Melbourne.
