The Spirit of Central Australia is an all-inclusive, fully escorted, premium air journey from Melbourne through to the Red Centre of Australia. Travel by 50 seater private aircraft and experience a wonderful combination of wildlife and spectacular scenery on Kangaroo Island and a stay at Coober Pedy, the fascination and colourful mining town. Then visit the Outback and the mysterious Ayers Rock followed by a stay in Alice Springs.


Starting with a flight on a private aircraft from Melbourne and have a bird’s eye view of the coastline of Victoria en route to Kangaroo Island in South Australia. . The island, which is Australia’s third largest, teems with animal and bird life. It also offers spectacular scenery including rugged coastal cliffs, natural bushland, pristine beaches and vineyards. Enjoy time here at the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park which is home to over 150 species of Native Australian Wildlife including koalas, kangaroos and wallabies. Afterwards, explore Flinders Chase National Park which offers amazing wildlife experiences as well as unusual windblown rock formations that sit on top of a smooth granite dome called Remarkable Rocks. There is also Admirals Arch under which the surf pounds and where fur seals play. Overnight on Kangaroo Island.

The following morning, visit Seal Bay for a professionally guided walk to view the large colony of sea lions here. This is followed by Raptor Domain to experience a "Birds of Prey" free-flight demonstration featuring wedge tailed eagles, barn owls, kookaburras and much more. Then go to Andermel Marron Farm for a mouth-watering lunch of fresh crayfish and local wines.

Later in the day, fly directly from Kangaroo Island to Coober Pedy on the mainland where you will stay overnight. The next day, have a tour of the town visiting two amazing and serenely beautiful underground churches and its unusual grassless golf course. Coober Pedy’s most famous site is the fascinating Umoona Mine where you will learn about the story of the opal and experience a cutting demonstration.

In the afternoon, catch a plane taking you to the heart of the Outback and Ayers Rock where you will overnight. This evening, enjoy a special “Sounds of Silence” dinner under the stars with Ayers Rock in the background, a monolith of red sandstone rising out of the flat desert landscape and known to the indigenous Aboriginal people as Uluru and a very sacred place.

The following morning, have a guided tour of The Olgas not far from Ayers Rock The Olgas are a group of large ancient rock formations and are located in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. They consist of 36 domes spread over an area of more than 20 square kilometres/12 square miles and are believed to be around 500 million years old. This is followed by lunch at the Cultural Centre with time to browse the indigenous arts and crafts and perhaps purchase a souvenir boomerang, didgeridoo or an authentic aboriginal painting. Later, catch a low-flying flight over the area to Alice Springs. On arrival, visit the Kangaroo Sanctuary and have a leisurely walk through the bush as the kangaroos wake up from their daytime sleep. Overnight in Alice Springs.

The next day brings a tour of Alice Springs which includes a bird's eye view of Alice Springs from Anzac Hill then a visit to the Old Telegraph Station used to transmit messages between Darwin and Adelaide from the 1870's until 1932. Later transfer to the airport for departure.

Day 1

Melbourne, Kangaroo Island

Pick up from Melbourne CBD Hotels and transfer to Essendon Airport. Fly by private aircraft ‘low and slow' along the spectacular Victorian coastline of the Great Ocean Road, past the famous 12 Apostles, to Kangaroo Island in South Australia.

Visit Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park - home to over 150 species of Native Australian Wildlife. Get up close to koalas, hand feed kangaroos and wallabies, interact with snakes, crocodiles and reptiles.

Explore Flinders Chase National Park. Highlights of the Park include; the Remarkable Rocks -- a huge rocky outcrop of weather sculptured granite boulders. Cape du Couedic features Admirals Arch, home to a large colony of New Zealand Fur Seals. Time to walk the viewing platform to observe these fascinating creatures.

Transfer to Ozone Hotel Kingscote for the night. Enjoy a welcome drink and dinner together.

Kangaroo Island, Coober Pedy

Visit one of Kangaroo Island's most famous attractions - 500 strong Sea Lion colony at Seal Bay. Participate in a professionally guided walk to the beach where the sea lions can be observed from a safe distance.

View more wildlife at Raptor Domain at its first class "Birds of Prey" free-flight demonstration featuring wedge tailed eagles, barn owls, kookaburras and much more.

Visit Andermel Marron Farm for a mouth-watering Marron (fresh water crayfish) lunch and local wines.

Transfer to Kingscote Airport where our private aircraft awaits for the onward flight to Coober Pedy the Opal Capital of the world!

Coober Pedy, Uluru

Uluru, Alice Spring

Join an expert guide for an amazing ground tour of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) meaning "many heads" a cluster of domed rocks as impressive as Uluru. The tallest rock, Mt Olga at 546 metres is approximately 200m higher than Uluru.

Feel the magnificence of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and learn about its geographical features and fascinating cultural significance.

Lunch at the Cultural Centre with time to browse the indigenous arts and crafts perhaps purchase a souvenir boomerang, didgeridoo or an authentic aboriginal painting.

Fly "low and slow" over Kata Tjuta, Uluru and along the West MacDonnell Ranges to Alice Springs. Simply spectacular flightseeing!

Transfer to Chifley Alice Springs Resort, home for the night before heading to the Kangaroo Sanctuary. It's a leisurely walk through the bush as the kangaroos wake from their daytime sleep.
