Taste of Tasmania

Duration
6 Days
Prices From:
US$ 1,159

Across the Bass Strait lies a side of Australia unlike any other.

Spend 6 days discovering Tasmania, an island that’s both part of Australia and its own unique world.

Departing Hobart, set out for Strahan, on Tasmania’s west coast. This former port town has some of the freshest air anywhere in the world, and is surrounded by picturesque beaches and rainforest. Go jet-boating or take a scenic flight over the Gordon and Franklin River system. Turning inland, head into Cradle Mountain National Park, a spectacular wilderness filled with native species, around half of which are endemic. You may see wallabies, quolls, Tasmanian Devils or even elusive wombats.

More wildlife awaits at Bicheno near Launceston, where you can watch the Little Penguins return to their rookeries (in a much less crowded setting than Victoria’s Phillip Island!). Enjoy amazing views of Wineglass Bay before exploring Freycinet National Park. In case you’ve missed them so far, meet some Tasmanian Devils at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary before going on to Port Arthur. This is the historic heart of Tasmania, Australia’s second oldest settlement after Sydney. Get a glimpse of the convict past as you tour this World Heritage Listed site.
