Get acquainted with New Zealand on this two-island adventure that takes you from beautiful Auckland to the alpine playground of Queenstown. In Auckland, climb the Sky Tower and cruise Waitemata Harbour before venturing to Queenstown to get your adrenaline fix and cruise along Milford Sound.
This 9-day New Zealand vacation showcases two of the most popular cities on the North and South Islands. It features economy, moderate, or first-class accommodations depending on your preference, international airfare, shared tours, and is a great introduction to the country.
After flying across the Pacific Ocean and crossing the International Dateline, arrive in Auckland on the North Island, the largest city in New Zealand and one of the world’s great coastal cities. Set on a narrow isthmus of land between two massive harbours, Auckland is a beautiful city with many cultural and natural highlights. One day, take advantage of the Hop-On Hop-Off Explorer Tour to jump between 14 of the city’s biggest attractions, including SkyCity, the Auckland Museum, Mount Eden, and the Auckland Zoo. Another day, take a Fuller’s Harbour Cruise to explore Waitemata Harbour, passing by landmarks like the Viaduct Basin, historic Devonport, and Rangitoto Island.
Connect from Auckland to Queenstown, the nation’s adrenaline capital on the South Island. If you’re in need of an adrenaline kick, this is the place to be. You can head on a jet boat adventure across Lake Wakatipu, bungee jump off a bridge overhanging a canyon, or bike through the picturesque hillsides. Queenstown is also great for more tranquil travellers; stroll by the lake, enjoy a round of golf, or visit nearby wineries while soaking in the lovely natural environment.
One day, cross the countryside to Te Anau and drive along Milford Road to embark on a cruise along Milford Sound, the most popular tourist attraction in the country. Enjoy the gorgeous views of Mitre Peak rising above the fjord and the deep greenery of the hilly landscape. Return to Queenstown for one final day, riding the Skyline Queenstown Gondola high above the town to Bob’s Peak to enjoy 220-degree views of Lake Wakatipu, The Remarkables, and Cecil Peak. Close out your time in New Zealand with a Taste of New Zealand buffet feast before flying back home to North America the next day.
