FIRST-CLASS | ESCORTED COACH TOUR: Venture across the rugged landscape of Tasmania on this value vacation. Beginning and ending in Launceston, you’ll spend 10 days journeying across the island, seeing highlights like Freycinet National Park, the capital of Hobart, the historic prison of Port Arthur, and the breathtaking wilds of Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park
This 10-day Australian vacation takes you throughout Tasmania on a great value trip. It features first-class accommodations, escorted coach touring, and is ideal for travellers in Australia who want to explore the nation’s southernmost state.
Your Australian tour begins in Launceston, on the north of the island. The city is known for its location along the Tamar River and easy access to nearby wineries and stunning Cataract Gorge. Take a journey along the river and visit the gold mining town of Beaconsfield before enjoying a welcome drink at James Boag’s Brewery. Turn east and spot Tasmanian Devils at East Coast Natureworld before swinging by Bicheno to see the Little Penguins. Continue south and journey into Freycinet National Park, where you’ll journey along white sand beaches and explore the coastline fringed by mountains.
Even further south you’ll explore Hobart, the state’s capital and a city in the midst of cultural resurgence. Take half a day to explore the coastline to Eaglehawk Neck and cruise to the Isle of the Dead before venturing to nearby Port Arthur, former home of Australia’s most infamous prison. Afterwards, you’ll have a full day in the capital to explore its highlights, from Salamanca Place to Constitution Dock to Salamanca Market, where you can purchase some goods to take back home.
Bid farewell to Hobart and turn northwest, stopping by Russell Falls to admire its three tiers of waterfalls before reaching Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, the island’s most pristine stretch of wilderness. In and around the park, you’ll cruise along Macquarie Harbour aboard the Spirit of the Wild, venture into nearby Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, and encounter the rugged wilderness of Tasmania in the heart of Cradle Mountain.
On the final leg of your journey, you’ll visit Waldheim Chalet to enjoy views of Dove Lake’s gorgeous shoreline, enjoy oysters and other fine seafood during a stay in Smithton, and journey across Great Lake before returning to Launceston. Before closing out your vacation, you’ll take a trip to nearby Cataract Gorge for a final exploration of Tasmania’s wilderness.
