Launceston is the largest city in Northern Tasmania and is central to many key attractions. You’ll visit Seahorse World at Beauty Point, as well as Beaconsfield Mine & Heritage Centre to learn more about the city’s mining history. Continue on to FreycinetNational Park, home to picturesque WineglassBay. Along the way, you’ll stop at East Coast Natureworld, for an up close and personal encounter with the cute, but not-so-cuddly Tasmanian devil.
Tasmania’s east coast is a treasure trove of history, with charming villages such as Ross, Richmond, and Port Arthur. Here, you’ll explore the Port Arthur Historic Site, Tasmania’s largest and best preserved settlement from the convict era. Cruise around the Isle of the Dead, the final resting place for some 2,000 souls who did not survive the colony’s harsh conditions.
The capital city of Hobart is home to a rising cultural scene, including the Museum of Old and New Art. Enjoy a tour of the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, before enjoying the city at leisure. Pass natural wonders like Lake St Clair and RussellFalls on your way to Strahan and the rugged west coast.
