Aussie Wine, Wildlife & Reef Escape

14 Days
Prices From:
US$ 3,189

Experience Australia’s unique icons, unforgettable flavours, and fascinating wildlife on this journey across the country. Connecting to Sydney, Kangaroo Island, Adelaide, and Cairns, you’ll see the Sydney Opera House, taste world-class wines, spot kangaroos and koalas, and snorkel the Great Barrier Reef.

This 14-day Australia vacation takes you to Sydney, Kangaroo Island, the Barossa Valley, and the Great Barrier Reef.

Your Australian vacation begins in Sydney, the country’s largest city and one of the most naturally-appealing urban centres in the world. Blessed with a massive natural harbour and home to a diverse population, Sydney is gorgeous and vibrant and full of multifaceted appeal. You’ll have several days at leisure to take advantage of the city with your iVenture Sydney Attraction Pass. Visit the harbour to see the iconic Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. If you want to take advantage of the sun, head to Bondi Beach and bond with the surfers who turn to Sydney when northern countries grow cold. Say “G’day” to marsupials like kangaroos, koalas, and wombats, head to Taronga Zoo, or visit the Sea Life Aquarium to see the aquatic animals that define Australia’s ocean. Take a Sydney Harbour Cruise to enjoy the best views of the water. Spend the rest of your time indulging in the culture, eating in world-class restaurants and kicking back in thumping nightclubs and trendy bars.

Connect to Kangaroo Island in South Australia, Australia’s equivalent to the Galapagos Islands. This relatively-small island abounds in wildlife and offers a taste of undeveloped Australia where nature reigns supreme. On your first day on KI, learn about eucalyptus distilling at the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery before spotting Australian fur seals at the Seal Bay Conservation Park and hand-feeding kangaroos and wallabies at the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park. The next day, pass through Flinders Chase National Park to see the Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch before connecting to Adelaide.

Adelaide is a city of quiet charms. Its Victorian architecture and relaxed atmosphere make it stand out from boisterous Sydney and trendy Melbourne. Take in the refined atmosphere before heading into the Barossa Valley to spend a full day exploring its world-famous wine region. As you wind through the valley, you’ll stop off at local wine cellars, dine on a delicious gourmet dinner, and enjoy stunning views of the valley. The next day, explore one of the largest produce-only markets in the Southern Hemisphere by heading to the Adelaide Central Market, where you’ll learn about the agriculture of South Australia and sample local foods.

Continue your Australian vacation by heading to your final destination, Cairns, the nation’s gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. On your first day, head to Michaelmas Quay to explore the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest living structure and home to over 1,500 species of fish. Aboard the 5-star catamaran, Ocean Spirit, you’ll enjoy four hours of snorkelling on the reef. Journey through coral gardens and spot all manner of colourful tropical fish. Return to Cairns and spend a day enjoying the town’s tropical atmosphere, shopping along the Promenade, and cooling off with a dip in the massive saltwater lagoon. On your final day, learn about Indigenous traditions at Kuranda, located in the heart of the rainforest. Head on a guided rainforest tour to see the verdant jungle before witnessing a Pamagirri Aboriginal Dance and closing out your time with a visit to the Koala and Wildlife Park, where you may be lucky enough to hug a koala.

At the end of your time in Cairns, connect back to the airport to continue your onward journey.
