FIRST CLASS | TAILOR-MADE: This Australia vacation brings together unique icons, unforgettable flavours, and Aussie wildlife to create a Downunder trip you’ll be talking about for years to come. Combine Australia's sophisticated cities of Sydney and Adelaide, with a chance to explore two of its best known winemaking regions, along with the natural wonders of Kangaroo Island and Cradle Mountain, Tasmania.

This 15-day tour combines Australia’s most sophisticated cities with a chance to explore two of its best known winemaking regions, along with the natural wonders of Kangaroo Island and Cradle Mountain, Tasmania.

Diverse and historic Sydney greets visitors with its sparkling harbour, iconic Harbour Bridge, and the unforgettable Sydney Opera House. Your included ferry ticket allows you to enjoy all three, including entry to Taronga Zoo, where you can say ‘G’day’ to kangaroos, koalas and other natives as well as many international guests. Your guided tour of The Rocks area offers a fascinating insight into Australia’s convict past, while an afternoon tour takes you to the Botanical Gardens and famous Bondi Beach for a more modern slice of Sydney.

Pick up your hire car and spend a leisurely day exploring the wineries of the Hunter Valley. A short flight to Adelaide continues your wine-tasting adventure in South Australia’s famous Barossa Valley. Originally settled by German settlers in the 1840s, towns such as Tanunda retain a strong German character amid Australia’s largest winemaking region.

Go on to Kangaroo Island, Australia’s best kept ecological secret. A guided walk will introduce you to the local wildlife, which includes over 260 species of birds. Other highlights include Flinders Chase National Park, the Rocky River region and a stop at Seal Bay National Park, where you’ll have the chance to walk among the island’s famous sea lions.

Rustic Cradle Mountain Lodge puts you in the heart of Tasmania’s spectacular wilderness. Enjoy a full day in the idyllic surrounds of the island state before returning to Launceston for your flight back to the mainland.

Australia’s cultural capital, Melbourne offers world class shopping, a thriving arts scene, beautiful urban parks and endless restaurant options, which combine to seduce culture vultures, foodies, and casual visitors alike. Catch a ride on its famous trams, or for a uniquely Melbourne experience, book a table at the Tramcar Restaurant. Your second day includes a city tour, plus an evening tour to Phillip Island to see the world renowned ‘Little Penguin Parade’.

Your Australian wildlife adventure ends with a guided ecotour, giving you the chance to get close to kangaroos, koalas and other native animals in the wild.

Tastings in the Hunter, A Wine Lover's Adventure

Your informative and knowledgeable guide will collect you from your Sydney hotel. Departing from the city, we travel north over the Sydney Harbour Bridge via the Gore Hill Freeway to join the Pacific Highway and then the F3 freeway. We will travel directly to the Hunter Valley, which is nestled in the lee of the Great Dividing Range. Enroute we will stop for a short restroom visit.

180 years young, this is Australia's oldest and best-known wine region and is soaked in history. It's a dynamic and fascinating area that brims with over 150 top-class wineries, 65 indulgent restaurants as well as gourmet produce and boutique breweries. Our first visit is to a 5-star winery nestled in the Mount View region of the Hunter Valley, a well-renowned viticulture area. Sample exquisite wines in your own private area.

From here we continue onto Leogate Estate. This opulent cellar door is the perfect place to enjoy that unique taste which only the Hunter Valley and their award-winning wines can provide. All wines produced from the great vines of one of the most highly regarded vineyards in Australia. Here we will enjoy a selection of cheeses to accompany the wine tasting, followed by a tour of the onsite winery to learn of the wine making process.

On conclusion of the tour, we enjoy a relaxing 2-course lunch (selection of platters, followed by dessert of choice) accompanied by a glass of wine. Further beverages can be purchased at own expense.

Our final stop today is at Tulloch Wines. For over 122 years, the Tulloch family has been passionate about producing hand crafted, premium wines made to enjoy. At Tulloch you don't just do a wine tasting, you have a wine experience. Here we will enjoy a delightful Wine & Chocolate Experience, a foray into the world of "degustation" that is easy to reproduce at home or with friends. You will experience the indulgence of Hunter Valley made artisan chocolate as you partner each one with the mouth-watering flavours of Tulloch Wines

From here we commence our return to Sydney to arrive back at your hotels approximately 5 - 5.30pm.

Day 7

Kangaroo Island

Today, you will visit Flinders Chase National Park. The park is a 74,000 hectare (190,000 acre) wilderness which covers the entire west end of the Island. Visit Rocky River Homestead - originally a small farm and now the Park headquarters. This park has a fascinating place in the history of wildlife and wilderness conservation and many tangible elements of this still remain.

At Cape du Couedic on the south-west tip, visit a fur seal colony which is rapidly expanding. These animals can be observed at rest on the rocks or frolicking in the surf under Admirals Arch - a spectacular coastal grotto. On the headland above is Cape du Couedic Lighthouse which plays an important role in navigation.

Further down the coast explore Remarkable Rocks, huge natural granite sculptures on the cliff top which look like a meeting of the minds of Henry Moore and Salvador Dali. Lunch today is an elegant picnic on the cliff tops or in the bush before heading east to Kelly Hill Conservation Park. Here, a story of solitude and remote lifestyles sees former sheep pastures enjoyed by grazing kangaroos.

Return to Kingscote in time to connect with the return flight to Adelaide.

Lanes and Arcades Tour

Have you ever been to a city and wondered what all the fuss was about? Or wasted time trying to find that cool local café you were told of, and ended up missing everything? Melbourne's arcades and laneways hide many of these answers. Join this indulgent afternoon walk through Melbourne's beautiful back streets, and get orientated in the life of the city that locals love. Discover artisanal and specialty retailers, that often are only found in the city. Some of the quirkiest cafes, independent designers, street art, architecture, and historical tales are found in these walkways. Soak in the city via all your senses, and engage with passionate creatives. There is something for everyone, locals and visitors alike.

Day 12

Kangaroos and Koala's in the Wild

Walk through natural bushland to meet wild koalas, then learn about each one's history and social life from your Wildlife Guide and Koala Researcher. Help remove Boneseed (a weed) and make a difference to koala habitat. Join wild mobs of Kangaroos on the plains and in open forests. Their natural instinct is to flee humans, but with care you often get close enough to take photographs and observe their complex social life. While you walk, help your Guide record sightings of all native wildlife.

The natural environments you visit are also home to parrots, fairy-wrens, emus, honeyeaters, possums, wallabies and lizards. Your Wildlife Guide will help you understand them, and teach you how to find and enjoy them without disturbing their natural behaviour - techniques that will be useful to you wherever you go. A substantial picnic lunch is included.

Dinner is at the local Pub, a real Aussie experience!
