One of Chile’s major regional attractions has to be the Atacama Desert, nature’s gift to the country. The Atacama Desert extends 1000 kilometres.600 miles north to south in Northern Chile. It is the driest desert in the world and has been likened to both the planet Mars and the Moon due to its moonlike landscapes. Nevertheless, it has a rich variety of flora with over 500 different species. It also has a large number of geysers and rock pools. It is rich in copper and other minerals. Another interesting aspect is that it has many archeological sites. The area also contains a number of astronomical observatories.
Your visit to Atacama includes a stay at the explora Lodge for 3 or 4 nights, located on the outskirts of the main city of the region, San Pedro de Atacama. Here you can relax and enjoy the hotel and also, whenever you wish, take exciting tours into the desert.

The hotel has 55 comfortable rooms with panoramic views. They are tastefully designed with wooden ceilings and floors made of stone and tiles. The television free rooms each have a small living area and hydro massage bath.
