Bachelor in Peru - Romance & Adventure

Duration
11 Days
Prices From:
US$ 5,537

Fans of ABC's The Bachelor will delight at this package, which takes you to Peru to experience some of the most romantic spots featured in the popular reality series. As you travel from Lima to Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Inca, you'll enjoy luxury accommodations, romantic dinners, and unforgettable experiences straight out of the show.

This 11-day Peru vacation takes you from the capital, Lima, to the coastal towns of Ica and Paracas, to the ancient capital, Cusco, and the Sacred Valley of the Inca and Machu Picchu. It showcases a land of mysticism and adventure while pampering you and a loved one with 5-star luxury accommodation, romantic dinners, and personalized treatment.

Your Peru romantic getaway begins in Lima, the capital of Peru, a fog-draped city that's at the centre of a culinary revolution. Spots like the Plaza de Armas and Larco Herrera Museum capture the city's colonial and Inca heart, but you'll spend your time exploring the city's trendiest districts, from bohemian Barranco to the swooning romantic spot of the Bridge of Sighs. On your first evening, enjoy a gourmet meal at Cala Restaurant, which is perched on the edge of the Pacific Ocean.

After getting your bearing in Lima, you'll head along the Pacific coastline and through shifting desert landscapes to Ica, an agricultural oasis in the midst of the desert. Known for its fruit production and incredible wines, Ica is also in the heart of the desert. You'll head on a dune buggy excursion to speed over sand dunes and take advantage of the desert's adventurous landscape.

Continue along to Paracas, a coastal town known for its spas and pre-Incan cultural spots. If you're a birder, you'll find plenty of incredible species of birds along the cliffs and beaches. You'll also have the option to take a flight over the Nazca Lines, those incredible 2,000-year-old geoglyphs carved into the earth, or enjoy a romantic picnic in the middle of the Paracas Desert, with the starry night sky and your loved one as your only company.

Close out your time on the coast with a journey to the Ballestas Islands, where you can explore caves and arches born from the eroded earth. You'll come across plenty of birds and sea lions, with dolphins and whales making the occasional appearance too. Opt for the luxury yacht cruise around the islands if you want to spot sea lions and Humboldt penguins with a glass of champagne in hand. If you take the luxury cruise, you'll also stop by the famous geoglyph, the Candelabro.

Head back to Lima and connect to Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Inca. On your journey into the Sacred Valley, you'll head on horseback to Pumamarca and enjoy spectacular views of the Ollantaytambo archaeological sites that dot the landscape. Ride the Vistadome train into the heart of the Andes, which offers incredible views through its glass roofs and massive panoramic windows.

Your destination is Machu Picchu, the most popular archaeological site in the Americas and possibly the world. Hidden from western civilization for several centuries and rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911, Machu Picchu has beguiled anyone lucky enough to walk its mountaintop ruins. Tour the mountaintop citadel and walk amongst the clouds as you learn about each dry-stone wall and terrace. The next day, explore the ruins at leisure and consider hiking to Huayna Picchu, the Andean peak famous as the backdrop for most pictures of the ruins. By the end of your time here, you'll truly understand why Machu Picchu is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Return from the Sacred Valley and explore Cusco to learn about its role as the ancient Inca capital and subsequently the centre of Spanish colonization in the country. You'll visit Koricancha Temple, which used to be an Inca temple dedicated to the sun god and now exists as a Dominican church. Head to the main square, Plaza de Armas, where you'll find the gorgeous Cusco Cathedral and the Church of La Compania de Jesus. The square is where the Spanish conqueror Pizarro declared victory over the Inca Empire. End your tour with a visit to the Museum Inka, to learn about that ancient civilization, and enjoy dinner at Map Café, the best restaurant in the city. Close out your Peru vacation by heading back to Lima to visit the Larco Museum, which explores the past 5,000 years of Peruvian history through over 45,000 exhibited artefacts.

This Peru vacation promises romance and luxury in the midst of some of the greatest natural and historical sites on the planet.

Day 5

Paracas - Ballestas Islands and return to Lima

Paracas is a spa, a peninsula, a bay, a pre Inca Culture and a National Reserve. It is amazing for birdwatchers and hikers. The desert and the sea come together in spectacular landscapes in Paracas and the cliffs that fringe the beaches are teeming with life.

Enjoy a boat journey from Paracas to the Ballestas Islands passing the "Candelabro", the famous three pronged candelabra carved into the sand with a similar technique to the Nazca Lines. These lines, however, are possibly of a different origin, with some speculating that they are from pirates marking a treasure hiding place to soldiers fighting for Latin American independence from Spain.

These spectacular islands, eroded into many caves and arches, provide shelter for thousands of seabirds and hundreds of sea lions. In the sea it is possible to encounter dolphins and even whales.

Afternoon you will return by private car to your hotel in Lima.
