FIRST-CLASS | PRIVATE-GUIDED: Let the Land of Lakes and Volcanoes enchant you with its spectacular scenery and authentic cultural flavours.

Explore one of Central America’s safest and most beautiful countries on this 8 day trip from Granada to León.

Nicaragua and possibly Central America’s oldest colonial city, Granada was founded in 1524 and bears the marks of a colourful past as the centre of many skirmishes over its ample timber, gold and silver supplies. These industries (though not the conflicts that troubled them) remain a key feature of Nicaragua today. Brimming with history, Granada’s streets are among the most pleasant to wander in the region.

Enjoy a city tour as well as a climb to see Masaya, the volcanic lake. At Lago de Nicaragua, a scenic boat ride takes you to some of the volcanic islands that punctuate the landscape. You’ll also take the Mombacho Volcano Nature Walk, a cloud forest walk in a national park that boasts over 800 species of plant.

Head to the Northern Highlands and the city of Matagalpa. Home to a thriving indigenous culture, it’s also a major centre for coffee, tobacco and cattle farming. Right nearby, you’ll visit Selva Negra for a sustainable farm and coffee tour.

Your final destination is beautiful León, a city that gives Granada a run for its money in the colonial charm stakes. You’ll visit the Sutiava neighbourhood for a taste of the indigenous culture of this region, and spend the rest of your day exploring the historic sights on a city tour. Finally, take a trip through Nicaragua’s famous rum culture before boarding a private motor boat for a ride through Juan Venado Nature reserve.

Return to León for your onward flight.
