Easter Island is the farthest island from any populated land on the planet. Spend your days exploring this unique spot and your nights at “explora”, the only 5 star hotel on the island.
As a travel company, we deal with and are aware of thousands of hotels world-wide. Obviously we only decide to include in our programmes those hotels which meet our standards and requirements. However, there are hotels which are outstanding, not just because they are deluxe standard or expensive but because they are special. Goway selects and offers designated hotels under the banner “Stays of Distinction" in the South Pacific, Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Not every selected hotel follows the same criteria for selection. The contributing factors could be any of the following. Stunning location, historical landmark, exceptional service and architectural design plus many other considerations.
Easter Island (known as Rapa Nui which is also the name of the language and the people) is a remote Polynesian island situated in the Pacific Ocean some 3500 kilomertres/2170 miles off the coast of Chile and reached by daily plane service. Its claim to fame is its 800 plus mysterious statues almost all made of solidified volcanic ash called Moai. They were created by the early Rapa Nui civilization between 1100 and 1680 AD. The largest raised on a platform is 32 feet in length and weighs 82 tons. The Moai are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today’s inhabitants of Easter Island are truly friendly and the landscapes are amazing.
During your stay, you will be advised by your local guide the choice of tours available. Some examples are the walk along the Hanga Oteo Trail which travels by steep cliffs with spectacular views as well as natural bathing pools and archaeological sites, the Aro O Te Moai Trail which was used to transport the statues, the burial site of Tangata Manu, the Te Pitu O Te Henua Trail (known as the Navel of the World) which takes you to a fishing cove where you will meet local villagers and see more archaeological sites plus many others. You will be absolutely rewarded and fascinated at the same time with your stay in Easter Island.
