Prices From:
US$ 630

Enhance your Galapagos cruise with an overnight stay at Galapagos Magic Camp, set far away from the hustle and bustle of ordinary life. Enjoy quiet, natural accommodations in the Santa Cruz Highlands and share the company of hundreds of Giant Tortoises that call the hillside home.

This 2-day Ecuadorian vacation takes you to a unique camp in the Santa Cruz Highlands for an ideal stay before or after a Galapagos cruise. It features moderate accommodations, active sightseeing, and is a perfect family vacation.

Depending on the timing of your Galapagos cruise, you’ll either fly into Baltra Airport and connect to Santa Cruz Island or disembark from your cruise and head to the Highlands. Once on Santa Cruz, you’ll make your way to Galapagos Magic Camp, an outdoor camp in the highlands perched on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Staying in one of six tents set up on wooden decks across the hillside, you’ll have unfettered access to the wondrous nature of the Santa Cruz Highlands. Relax to the sounds of waves lapping against the cliffs, hike to a nearby lava tube to enjoy a three-course dinner, or enjoy a cocktail in a bar overlooking the Pacific. Best of all, share the hillside with Giant Tortoises, who live in the highlands and graze on the tall grass.

After an evening spent beneath the bright stars of the Milky Way, connect to your cruise ship or head back home.

Day 1

Santa Cruz Island

On arrival into Baltra airport, you will be met by our local representative and be transferred to the Galapagos Magic Camp. The private transfer takes you from the airport, over the Itabca channel and then a 40-minute drive to the camp.

Falling in love with a destination is different for every traveler. Maybe it is a discovery of food, the excitement of getting off the beaten path or meeting and getting to know locals. For those that crave an insider's track to local life, we're excited to introduce you Galapagos Magic.

You arrive to the camp, perched high on a hillside overlooking the ocean that is your home for the night.

The sounds of nature will serenade you in the evening, and the crystal-clear skies give way to the deep Milky Way as your night light. Feast your eyes on the mountains and forests surrounding the Camp and enjoy the peace of having the entire hillside to yourself, with the exception of seasonal resident giant tortoises.

Before dinner, enjoy a short walk to the reserve's natural lava tubes, for a nightcap in the one-of-a-kind 'Lava Lounge or sit at the bar watching the sunset over the pacific with your tortoise friends!

Dinner is a sumptuous three-course affair, prepared by expert chefs in an open-air kitchen in the one of the Lava tubes.

It is then bedtime. There are six tents set on wooden decks providing accommodation for up to 20 people. The accommodation is cozy and secluded, and all have en-suite facilities.

Galapagos Magic is a million miles from the world's hustle and bustle. Located on Santa Cruz Island (Holy Cross), home to the Galapagos' largest human settlement, the Island's approximately 12,000 residents mainly live in Puerto Ayora, named after Ecuadorian president Isidro Ayora. Magic is a world apart from Puerto Ayora, with only birdsong and breezes to greet guests.

The highlands on Santa Cruz have a lot to offer. Huge rock tunnels formed by the volcanic activity that made the islands are famous, On the surface are farms where you can see giant tortoises in their natural habitat. This is where 'Lonesome George', the most famous tortoise in the world, lived until his recent death.

Giant tortoises call Magic Galapagos their home much of the year, and guests might see a handful slowly moving through the grounds or many dozens dotting the meadow.
